An interesting maiden opens the card and it might be worth taking a chance on VASILY, who is clearly held in high-regard. The son of Sadler's Wells was well supported on his Bath debut before the first-time tongue-tie brought about marked improvement at Folkestone last time out. With further progress expected, he gets the nod but Astragal and Eyedoro have both shown ability and are serious dangers.

As Silvestre De Sousa continues in his hunt for the jockeys championship and while it would be dangerous to rule out the chances of Makheelah, ADVERTISE makes more appeal. The son of Passing Glance was closing with every stride over 1m at Chepstow when last sighted and hinted that a step up in trip would suit. He has been handed exactly that and is expected to give another solid account of himself. Elsewhere, keep an eye on Fair Breeze who is beginning to look well treated.

This looks a good opportunity for FIRESTARTER. The step up to a stiff 1m is expected to bring out the best in the son of Cockney Rebel, who has earned a rating of 78 after six attempts. He has been knocking on the door and can be let in today. Expert Fighter showed signs of ability on debut and makes the most appeal of the remainder with that experience under his belt. Siouxperhero can make the frame again after a much improved effort at Kempton.

Recent Wolverhampton second Ad Vitam looks well-treated on turf based on his recent all-weather efforts but preference is for PEARL OPERA, who scored over 1m at Kempton latest and races off a 3lb higher mark returning to this sphere. Prophet In A Dream has winning course form over 5f but needs to prove his effectiveness over 1m. Clive Brittain's Methayel may be capable of better now upped in trip and looks the main danger.

The likes of Buxton, Cheylesmore, Mandhooma and Stonecrabstomorrow are all multiple winners at this venue and are capable of going well but all lack the scope for progression of Lydia Pearce's OLNEY LASS, who arrives here on a hat-trick after scoring over C&D when last sighted in September. The selection has an extra 6lb on her back today but has an excellent record over 7f and is taken to extend her winning sequence.

With confirmed trailblazers Clear Ice and Billy Red in the field there should be no hanging around here. The likely brisk gallop could suit MAGICAL SPEEDFIT, who has dropped 1lb lower than when scoring over 6f here in May and has the speed for this shorter trip. Even Bolder is well treated on the pick of his best efforts and has place claims, along with C&D winner Athwaab, who has been raised 3lb for a recent near-miss at Salisbury.
