Prazeres has shown enough to suggest that he can win a race of this nature and his poor run last time was due to him not staying 7f. That said, preference is for GMAASH following her close fourth on debut at Wolverhampton a couple of weeks ago. The daughter of Dubawi is also fully entitled to improve for that first racecourse experience. Similar comments apply to Desert Mark, although the fact that he has been off the track since his debut in June is an obvious concern.

In an open race marginal preference is for MAMDOOD, who looked in need of his debut run when fifth at Wolverhampton recently. That form could be given a significant boost in the race prior to this by Gmaash, who finished a place in front of the selection. Akkadian Empire and Glendun may lack the improvement of the selection but they have strong claims on their previous form, while Esloobaha could pick up some place money.

It is very difficult to oppose TITAN GODDESS as she arrives here without a penalty for her seven-length victory in an apprentice handicap at Leicester last week. If she is in the same form the daughter of Equiano can complete a four-timer. Admirable Art also arrives here in good form and he may pick up the pieces if the selection disappoints, although World Record can also make his presence felt.

PURPLE PARTY is a filly heading the right way and only just failed to follow up her C&D success over the extended 1m1f here last time. A further 4lb rise will obviously make life tougher, but she is entitled to improve again and gets the nod. Edge lines up off the same mark as when placed in a similar track and trip event latest and he should give another good account, while Kempton third Carcharias cannot be ruled out either.

Handy dual purpose performer MOSS STREET showed a likeable attitude when landing a similar C&D event latest and a 5lb rise might not be enough to anchor him if arriving in the same determined mood. Other last-time-out winner Protest warrants respect, while Gladys Cooper, who often runs well without winning, makes up the shortlist.

Pick A Little is only 2lb higher than when scoring over track and trip last time and is expected to be thereabouts, though preference is instead for SOARING SPIRITS, a track and trip winner that lost little in defeat when third over 6f in a higher grade here last time and could benefit from the drop in class and step back up in trip. Rio's Cliffs ran creditably over the extended mile at Leicester last time and could keep on well for a place.

PRESTO BOY kept on well in the closing stages when second over the extended 5f at Bath and could improve for this extra yardage. Burauq was third over track and trip last time and commands the utmost respect returning on the same rating, though he has a little to find with the second from that contest, The Reel Way, and the latter, representing the Pat Chamings stable, is considered the principal threat.

Taajub has dropped 7lb lower than his last winning (all-weather) mark and remains a danger to all while operating at 0-75 level. Marginal preference, however, is for NOBLE ASSET, who went down by under a length over 5f at Goodwood last time and returns on an unchanged rating. Bahamian Sunrise hasn't been hit hard by the handicapper for winning at Sandown last month and has place claims.
