Nok Twice was a good winner at Limerick in July and has run well since but might be too high in the handicap now. Star Of Russia is on a hat-trick but is up 8lb today and may struggle. STEF'S GIRL is up 5lb for her Galway win earlier this month but is in top form and won far more easily than the one length official distance suggest. She should be capable of following up.

Dalwich is on a hat-trick but has been raised a massive 13lb in the weights since her win at Tramore. Sogno Verde was an impressive winner of a Tippery maiden but looks to have plenty of weight here. Monsusu was a good second at Bellewstown off a 2lb lower mark and can't be ruled out but preference is for SORANNA, winner over a mile at Naas last month. She's up 7lb but is in good form and, after a good effort at Gowran Park last time, could be good enough to take this.

Ballet Dancing has shown ability but may have something to find here. Marias Dream and Miss Blueyes won last time out and can be given chances, while Max Almighty would have claims on his best form but this should go to KARRAMALU, who has been running well in decent handicaps. She would probably have to give most of these weight in a handicap and under today's conditions should prove too good for her rivals.

4

Kiletra Fegentri Ladies Handicap (40-70)

Clara Allen was a battling winner over 2m at The Curragh last month but will find it much tougher now with another 6lb. Ballintry Guest is up 4lb for his win over 1m 4f at Gowran Park but was quite a cosy winner that day and has sound claims here. He might find one too good here, however, in LUXI RIVER. Twice a winner over hurdles this summer, he was just pipped at Downpatrick on his first Flat run of the season. Up just 1lb today, he should go one better.

Hasik has run well off similar marks but is hard to fancy on recent efforts. Shaalyn is up 9lb on his winning mark but ran well off today's rating at Downpatrick last time and can't be ruled out. Sanadja is up 6lb for his Galway success and doesn't always look in love with the game. If she puts her mind to the task, she can take this but a safer bet looks to be KILCARRIG HOUSE, a running-on third over C&D last month. He should be fit enough now to take this.

A trappy contest despite the scarcity of runners. Red Square Lady has put in some good efforts in decent handicaps while Loyal Focus won on his debut and was third in a Grade 3 race earlier in the year. Always won over fences at Galway last time but he is less successful over timber and preference is for ANXIOUS MOMENTS. He hasn't won over timber for more than two years but is fit from the Flat, where he won over 2m at The Curragh in June. His return to hurdling should be a winning one.

7

18:35 Cork (IRE) (4YO plus)

Mitchelstown Maiden Hurdle

2m 4f

It's hard to see beyond ALICKADOO for the answer to this puzzle. He put in an excellent effort when third at Ballinrobe last month in just his second start over timber. He should have come on for the run and looks too good for his rivals here. Knockakeo Lady looks an interesting newcomer and it would be no surprise to see her in the shake-up but Mabrooka, third in a decent maiden last time, might be the one for the forecast.
