Milord and Walter White both hold solid claims but have lengthy absences to overcome, so a chance is taken on handicap debutant BELIZE. There was a lot to like about his latest bronze medal finish behind subsequent winner Rock N Rhythm, and an opening mark of 109 certainly doesn't look beyond him. Fred Le Macon has posted a number of solid efforts in defeat and he cannot be ruled out either representing last year's winning stable.

Our Folly warrants plenty of respect racing off a 7lb higher mark than when winning at Stratford, while Almagest should give a good account if none the worse for his Warwick blunder. The vote, however, goes to the hat-trick seeking SHALIANZI. He has impressively notched up wins at both Fontwell and Stratford and a further 6lb rise might not be enough to anchor the in-form five-year-old. A big run from Fred Le Macon, half-a-length behind the selection last time, in the opener will boost his chances.

I'm In Charge posted three solid efforts during the spring and must enter calculations on his return from a 149-day break, but a race-fit KING FONTAINE is preferred. The veteran performer produced his best effort for some time when winning readily at Plumpton and remains very well handicapped on his best form, despite a subsequent 8lb rise. He's A Bully bounced back to form at Market Rasen and he is certainly no forlorn hope off bottom-weight.

Connections are wasting no time sending BALLYCOE over fences, and they can reap the rewards. The Norse Dancer gelding has already won a point-to-point and a maiden hurdle during a very short career to date, but chasing was always going to be his game and the conditions of this race look just about perfect. Bonne Fee and For 'n' Against both disappointed on their first outings in this sphere, so look towards How About It for the biggest danger. He is another unexposed sort who looks sure to appreciate this switch to fences.

Eight runners declared to go to post, but this effectively looks a match race between ABIDJAN and Angus Glens. The latter possibly didn't get home over the extended 2m3f at Aintree last time and should benefit from this drop in trip, but Paul Nicholls' inmate looks potentially a notch above. He built on a couple of solid placed efforts when running away with a maiden hurdle at Newton Abbot, and worryingly for his rivals, he is likely to have improved again during his 171 days away from the racecourse. Of the others, Warwick fourth Silver Dixie has an outside chance.

BULLETPROOF stands out a mile in a race where most of the others are struggling to find any sort of form. One of the top conditional jockeys' in Sean Bowen has been booked to ride the dual Newton Abbot scorer, and he won with enough in hand last time to suggest that he can defy a 7lb penalty. His biggest danger might prove to be Prince Of Poets, who was nine lengths behind (but is 18lb better off at these reversed ratings) when the pair met 20 days ago, while handicap debutant Createur also has place credentials.
