The 133-rated Affaire D'honneur holds obvious claims representing last year's winning connections, but he has plenty of quirks to match his talent and might be worth taking on with MOVEWITHTHETIMES. Bred to have plenty of ability (full brother to the smart Venture Capital), he made a favourable impression when winning on his racecourse debut in a Wincanton bumper six months ago and switching to hurdles is unlikely to pose any problems. Sleep Easy and Icing On The Cake are others to keep an eye on.

PADDY THE DEEJAY gets the tentative vote in a tricky-looking handicap. He posted two solid efforts over hurdles before unseating Joshua Moore three-out in this sphere at Warwick last time (when still in contention) and a clear round of jumping could see him make amends. Tom Neary merits consideration off a 1lb lower mark than when placed at Exeter, while Fergal Mael Duin comfortably won this race last year and is worth a market check at least on his return from a break.

Yes I Did is two from three under Bridget Andrews and warrants plenty of respect on her seasonal/handicap debut, while Board Of Trade and Hawkhurst are classy individuals and both give the impression that there is a lot more to come. The vote, however, goes to CATHERINES WELL. She was last seen winning by 12 lengths at Doncaster in December and is still potentially some way ahead of the handicapper despite a 9lb rise. If anywhere near full fitness on her return, she looks sure to go close.

AS DE MEE's experience over fences could prove to be vital in this contest, as this will be his ninth start over the larger obstacles today. A second in the Grade 1 Scilly Isles Novices' Chase back in February and the outstanding form of the Paul Nicholls yard make the six-year-old the one to beat today. Charmix arrives here with a higher official hurdles rating than As De Mee but the son of Laveron has yet to find himself up against a rival of his quality. Royal Vacation would appear to be the pick of the remainder.

Stakes should be kept to a minimum for this mediocre event but the nod goes to GENEROUS HELPINGS, who did not get home over 3m1f here last time out and his form over shorter prior that gives him a leading chance today. Flash Crash is capable of going well if he is at the peak of his ability, while similar comments apply to Burgess Dream and Sea The Springs.

PEGGIES VENTURE won a decent enough contest at Lingfield earlier in the year and since then the daughter of Presenting has switched to the yard of Alan King. A reproduction of that debut effort would have her thereabouts despite a 7lb penalty. Raveloe has not gone on from a promising debut run but she can make the frame today. Any market support for Bisoubisou on debut would have to be noted.

It may not have been the strongest of bumpers that Moorstone was successful in over C&D last month but she could not have won it any easier and could be hard to beat this afternoon. That said, a 7lb penalty will make life harder for her in this stronger-looking contest and the preference is for TANGLEY. The daughter of Black Sam Bellamy arrives here having won a point-to-point and she cost connections 40,000 pounds back in May. Earth Lady is closely related to plenty of winners and she is another to merit respect.
