GIANT SPARK won like a well-handicapped animal at Nottingham last week and the in-form Paul Midgley looks to have found his four-year-old an ideal opportunity to follow up that success. A 6lb rise looks reasonable given the visually impressive performance, and with top amateur Simon Walker booked once more, a fair effort is expected. Ancient Cross was a well-backed second at Catterick on Friday, and the veteran is clearly in decent heart bidding to end a long run without a win. Hab Reeh ended a 19-race winless run last time out at Ayr and must also have claims in such a modest renewal.

A frantic five furlong sprint that can head back to Ireland for LILLIARD and John Partick Shanahan after some performances full of promise in her career so far. The three-year-old has contested maidens against the likes of Washington DC, Dream Dubai and Most Beautiful, and with a plum draw in stall one, she is expected to go very close here. Lady Wootton looks likely to go off as favourite, but she is becoming frustrating to follow and her mark is slowly increasing without her winning. East Street Revue relished the quicker ground and first-time blinkers at Redcar last week to finish second and he looks best of the remainder, ahead of top weight Kingthistle.

INCURS FOUR FAULTS has been on a nice mark for quite some time and looks to have all the right tools in order to end a long winless run for Keith Dalgleish. The five-year-old claimed his most recent turf victory at this racecourse under today's rider Joe Fanning in 2014, and he can get the better of King Of Paradise, who won this in 2013 . Lara Carbonara has won here before and is entitled to respect for her shrewd Irish connections after a much-improved effort here last month, and her mark remains unaltered. The rest of the runners have a bit to find, but perhaps Multi Grain can mount the most serious challenge for the place money.

Newmarket-based trainers have dominated this contest in the last couple of years, with both David Simcock and Sir Michael Stoute claiming the spoils. That trend is expected to continue with Charlie Appleby's BACHELORHOOD fancied to make a winning debut. The three-year-old is a well-bred son of New Approach, and should be able to land this with minimal fuss before moving onto better things. Keith Dalgleish's Eez Eh cost 70,000euros at the sales in 2014 and though runners from this stable usually improve from their first outing, he could be one to place in the notebook. Black Agnes and Carbon Dating require market checks for their Irish connections.

A few of these are beginning to look rather exposed, with Togetherwecan and Weld Al Khawaneej having just one victory between them in 21 starts, and can be taken on with something with more scope. CHOOKIE VALENTINE has a mark after a couple of maiden efforts on the all-weather, and could be well treated off 52. He showed good early speed and signs of promise at Southwell in March and the three-year-old rates as a cautious pick in a trappy race. Bajan Rebel has been in great form lately, but doesn't always get home when travelling further than her favoured 7f trip. C&D winner Riponian is feared most.

ALEXANDRAKOLLONTAI is usually worth following when she gets her head in front and after last week's resounding success at Leicester, it is interesting that connections turn her out so quickly under a penalty. She has won here five times before and deserves a chance to make it six before a further 6lb penalty takes effect. The six-year-old is fancied to shrug that off and get the better of Final Venture, who is 3-3 on fast ground and must be respected chasing a hat-trick. Spirit Of Zeb, Kenny The Captain and Salvatore Fury are feared most in that order.

Paul Midgley had a great chance to score in the opening race of the card and he looks to have a solid hand in the finale, with FUEL INJECTION fancied to do the business once more after an impressive win at Catterick last month. Jack Garritty gave the five-year-old an excellent ride from a poor draw, and a 3lb rise looks more than fair. His trainer commented after that contest that he believed the grey could be rated in the high 60s or low 70s if back at his best, so a rating of 51 certainly should be no cause for concern. Pabusar ran well here last week but might need 6f, while Kuanyao also merits consideration.
