A maiden where the newcomers are of most interest. Sir Michael Stoute sends out Song Of Namibia, a half-brother to Group race performers Glass Harmonium and Arab Spring, who has obviously proven a fragile individual making his racecourse debut at the age of five and is entitled to improve for the experience. Preference goes to TARSEEKH who is related to performers that were at their best around a mile and represents Roger Varian who is currently in excellent form. Another trainer in decent form is Saeed bin Suroor who saddles Most Celebrated, while Al Neksh brings the best form of those who have raced having done plenty wrong on debut at Leicester but finished nicely to take third.

All eyes will be on FAIR EVA who is the fourth of Frankel's progeny to hit the racecourse and out of Group One winner African Rose so her pedigree entitles her to be a fairly decent individual and with Ryan Moore booked, a bold bid must be expected. Hazy Manor is a full sister to this year's Derby fifth Humphrey Bogart and warrants respect coming from a local yard who have a fair record at the track, while the form of Nasimi's maiden success is represented by Nations Alexander and Mia Cara who could both use their experience to their advantage.

A race that has been used as a stepping stone towards the Melrose with Vent De Force doing the double two years ago. Rasasee and OCTOBER STORM were separated by a nose last month at Sandown when second and third over this distance and preference goes with the latter who stayed on powerfully on that occasion and looks open to more progression over marathon trips. Roderic's Secret was fourth in that Sandown contest and has the assistance of Paul Hanagan in the saddle, while Kajaki has plenty of stamina in his pedigree and shouldn't be inconvenienced by the extra two furlongs here.

ALBERNATHY was subject to a fair gamble in a competitive 7f handicap at York where he finished down the field behind the progressive Castle Harbour and, while no horse has yet won from that contest, the form has a solid look with those having coming out of that race performing with credit. The extra furlong will benefit the son of Dubawi with plenty of stamina on the dam's side of the pedigree. He can overturn that form with Eqleem who was dropped 3lb for that effort but doesn't completely convince that he wants a step up in distance. Of the rest, Galvanize will benefit from the drop back in trip, while Carnageo merits respect carrying a penalty for his win last week at Ripon.

Although only four runners take their chance, this is a competitive handicap on paper. KING BOLETE was given an excellent ride from the front at Ascot last time by Andrea Atzeni and a 4lb rise could well underestimate the authority in which he won with. Perestroika reopposes from Ascot but the form of the Henry Candy stable still remains questionable as he hasn't had a winner since April, while Tawdeea shaped last time as though a step up in distance wouldn't go amiss. Novanica has proven disappointing of late and first time blinkers could well bring about improvement.

FORTH BRIDGE was runner-up last time when improving for the step up in distance at Salisbury behind Harbour Law, who has since won a handicap at Sandown, and he has the assistance of Ryan Moore in the saddle for the first time this afternoon. Plenary ran his best race last time when runner-up behind Shabeeb who won a conditions event on Saturday at Doncaster and he is likely to improve for the step up in distance, while newcomer Daily News is related to Group performer Danadana and represents a yard in excellent form.

Next Life defied inexperience to win well on debut at Kempton last September and an opening mark of 84 seems more than fair for the daughter of Oasis Dream but the concern here on handicap debut is whether she will be street wise enough against horses with more experience than herself. Preference goes to another once-raced maiden winner in TARBOOSH who looks as though he can progress well above his mark of 79 and this half-brother of Carry On Deryck showed enough signs on debut that inexperience shouldn't be a concern. Lagenda heads the shortlist which also contains Fang, who has Ryan Moore and first time blinkers to assist, Il Piccolo Grande, who should benefit from the drop in distance, and George William, who was third in a decent handicap here last month.
