PODEMOS has shown good form in his three starts to date, which includes chasing home Almoghared, a half-brother to Oaks winner Taghrooda, at Chepstow on his latest start. An opening mark of 83 looks very fair on his handicap debut and he looks to have the scope for progression as the season goes on. Sea Youmzain won on her handicap debut at Nottingham when proving to be more dominant than the winning margin suggested and a 6lb rise may underestimate her, while Star Of Southwald can prove happier back at a more realistic level after running with credit behind Knight To Behold at Lingfield in their Derby trial.

GOD GIVEN appeals as the type to progress as a four-year-old and her run behind Barsanti on ground that was rattling quick at Ascot was very commendable. Despite the prospect of similar ground, it will likely have been well watered to take the sting out of it so the daughter of Nathaniel can gain another success at this level. Cribbs Causeway was hugely consistent last year and is entitled to improve from her return at York behind Precious Ramotswe, while the William Haggas pair of What A Home and Mam'selle are both better than what they showed last time.

MUTHMIR has been in decent form this season without hitting the frame behind two quality sprinters in City Light and Battaash and, with conditions to suit, he looks to have been found a decent opportunity to get back to winning ways. Judicial looked as good as ever when runner-up to the highly-progressive Mabs Cross in the Palace House at Newmarket last month and is likely to be in the mix once again along with Alpha Delphini, who was third on that occasion.

DUTCH CONNECTION has the strongest form in the book and his Lockinge effort when fourth to Rhododendron was a fine run considering he doesn't quite see out a mile. The drop back to 7f on his beloved fast ground can see him to best effect and he escapes a Group 3 penalty having won the Supreme Stakes at Goodwood before the cut-off date. Emmaus won well on heavy ground at Leicester but he has to prove himself on a sounder surface so the main dangers could well be D'bai, who was second to The Tin Man at Windsor over 6f last time, and recent C&D Listed winner Tabarrak.

Reputation had no luck in running when bidding for a repeat success at Epsom last Saturday in the race he won in 2017 and he is respected on his Ripon victory the time before. Mostahel was disappointing when last seen in a strong Newmarket handicap behind Ekhtiyaar and he has the potential for further improvement on his sixth career start, but the vote goes to SUMMERGHAND. David O'Meara's gelding won in good style at Doncaster last time and a 6lb rise in the weights may not prove enough to stop him.

DRAGON MOON returns to the distance he scored over at Lingfield for his switch to handicap company and Richard Hannon's lightly-raced youngster is backed to take advantage of potentially lenient opening mark to land this. Breaking Records and Lord Of The Glen both knocked on the door last time and are entitled to be on the scene here, while May Symphonic went close at Wetherby in a novice contest when trying make all over 7f last time and is interesting back down to 6f with Jim Crowley booked to ride.

ARMED RESPONSE was somewhat disappointing on his return to turf at Hamilton last time when sent off favourite but with Jedd O'Keeffe's runners often needing their first run of the season, the Sepoy colt could bounce back to his best off the same mark here, with the step up to 7f likely to suit. Knowing Glance is respected on his Carlisle victory last time and could have more to come from a 5lb higher mark, while Al Barg should appreciate the return to 7f having won over the trip two starts ago at Doncaster.
