REVEREND JACOBS won a competitive handicap at York last month and while an 8lb rise in the ratings will make life harder today, the progressive four-year-old should take plenty of beating. Theglasgowwarrior has to be respected following his recent Hamilton victory, while Eye of The Storm and Western Duke also warrant consideration in an interesting race to open the card.

There looks sure to be a frenetic pace up front in this contest with the likes of Caspian Prince, Copper Knight, El Astronaute, Major Jumbo and Ornate in the field. Most of them have strong form claims but they will not help each other's chances. With that in mind, preference is for MOVE IN TIME, who has bounced back to form since switching to Paul Midgley's yard last year. The 10-year-old was an impressive winner at Newmarket last month and this race could be run to suit this veteran. Dark Shot and Soie D'leau are others to note, while Orvar may be capable of rewarding each-way support.

The likes of Ballistic and Capitan James have to be respected given their previous race experience but the level they set is not extremely high and a chance can be taken with HARD SOLUTION. The son of Showcasing cost 80,000gns at a breeze-up sale earlier in the year and he is a half-brother to Pastoral Player and Chil The Kite, so a bold bid on debut would come as no surprise.

Knight In Armour did too much too soon at Wolverhampton last time and could fare better here if ridden with restraint now dropped in trip. The three-year-old also wears first-time blinkers, but might find it hard to shake off RITA'S MAN. He was forced out wide at Wetherby last time out and looks poised to do much better this time with more luck in running. Stablemate Kirbec needs a market check after a 213-day absence.

SEBASTIAN'S WISH has won three times in five attempts at this venue and should have come on plenty for his recent reappearance at Haydock. The five-year-old is suited by drying ground and could prove too strong for Faithful Mount, who drops in class and has been eased 4lb for his Goodwood exertions last time, and Angel Gabrial, who hasn't won in four years but stayed on well over an insufficient distance at Chester last month.

The consistent COLOUR CONTRAST has hit the frame on the last three occasions and it is interesting handler Iain Jardine changes tact with the Rock Of Gibraltar gelding and drops him back in trip to 7f. Richard Guest holds a strong hand here with his Les Landes winner Tellovoi and Mr Potter, who remains on a dangerously low mark, while the blinkered Lotara appears to be heading in the right direction.

17:30 Musselburgh (Class 5) (4YO plus)

Keith Dalgleish saddles three here with his C&D winner JACOB BLACK backed to leave his two narrow Hamilton defeats behind him now back down to 7f. Stablemate Inglorious may prove to be his nearest challenger and has a fine record at the track, while fellow Scottish handler Jim Goldie holds solid claims with Tommy G, who is 2lb lower than when last scoring and is on the whole a consistent performer.
