Whiplash Willie is going the right way but was well held last time and tackles the all-weather for the first time. Circus Star has been well beaten on his two starts but drops in class here and has experience on polytrack. It's possibly worth taking a chance, however, on John Gosden's well-bred newcomer CANTOR, closely related to the top-class Chorist and running for a yard with an outstanding record in these contests.
Both Mulaqen and Circus Star have shown enough to think they can win an ordinary AW maiden, but the well-bred Cantor is selected to make a winning start to his career.

RIO ROYALE may provide the answer to this sprint puzzle. A narrow winner at Brighton in August, he followed up with a near-miss at Bath and although he's yet to score in eight runs on the all-weather he's generously weighted on his best form on an artificial surface. Final Rhapsody won at Bath last time out but has plenty of weight to carry now and Lordsbury Pride, who has some good form on the all-weather and wears a visor for the time, might pose the biggest threat.
A good gallop is likely, and that will help the reviving Rio Royale to overcome the widest draw. The stronger the pace the better also for Commander Wish, who has the advantages of Richard Hughes and a lower AW mark, while Kheley could be the surprise package.

This could go to MUSHY PEAS, a game winner at Brighton last month. He was a close second at Kempton earlier this month on his all-weather debut and, although he carries another 3lb today, can improve enough to take this. The danger looks to be Best One, who ran on well to snatch victory on the line over 6f last time and is up just 3lb but hasn't proved the most reliable. Durgan just missed out at Bath last time but that was the first time he's made the frame in 12 starts.
Julie Burke managed to get the best out of Bold Ring here 3 days ago and, with no penalty to carry and the drop back to 6f no problem, the duo have a clear-cut opportunity to register a quickfire brace. With question marks hanging over Meydan Dubai, Mushy Peas and Best One rate the chief dangers.

AHLAWY is not one to rely on too heavily but was a game winner in a 1m1f handicap at Wolverhampton last time. He takes a big drop in class here and could be capable of following up. Lang Shining ran up an all-weather hat-trick at this level earlier in the year and must be given every chance back in this grade, while Green Earth landed a 1m Kempton claimer this month but has yet to prove he can see out this trip.
Mount Hadley would be a major player if anything near his best, and Richard Hughes could be the jockey to get the best out of him. However, the ones with most persuasive claims on recent evidence are Lang Shining and Ahlawy, with preference for the latter.

Plenty in with chances but slight preference is HEROSTATUS, who wasn't far away in second over 1m3f at Kempton this month. Eased 1lb in the ratings and likely to be suited by this longer trip, he should still be open to further improvement after just five starts. Dakiyah looks a shade flattered by recent turf form figures but is well weighted on his winning all-weather form and looks the danger. Lingfield maiden winner Beggar's Opera was well held at Kempton last time but is open to improvement.
Dakiyah deserves another success but may have to settle for a place again, with the unexposed pair of Beggar's Opera and the Paul Hanagan-ridden Herostatus making more appeal.

This should go the way of COUNTESS COMET, only beaten a nose at Ffos Las last month. She was well beaten over 1m3f at Kempton before that on her all-weather debut but may have been found out by the trip, as she was right there until a furlong out. Bahamian Music was well held at Haydock last time but is leniently treated on his Wolverhampton win - his only all-weather start - and can't be ruled out. Commerce landed a Wolverhampton maiden last time, looks well-treated on her handicap bow and is another to consider.
Bahamian Music was successful on her only previous attempt on polytrack and will be well suited by a return to quicker conditions after shaping as though still in form on ground softer than ideal last time. Countess Comet and Commerce are others worth considering.

SWEET SECRET scored a shade cosily over 1m at Kempton in August and although just denied when bidding to follow up at Salisbury last month, she remains on an upward curve and could be worth following back on the all-weather this afternoon. Recalcitrant made a pleasing return to all-weather action when fifth here recently and must be respected off the same mark. Top weight April fool and the hat-trick seeking So Surreal, lurking dangerously at the other end of the handicap, are others of note.
Sweet Secret is in good heart and looks worth sticking with while her profile is on the up. The Ron Harris-trained duo of Aflaam and April Fool are a couple of others to consider.
