CROISULTAN was run out of it over 6f last time and is much better suited by this minimum trip. He was a game scorer at Bellewstown in the soft two starts ago and can follow suit here. Pax Soprana was beaten a length in a decent Curragh contest in the soft last time and is a major threat, while Tarrsille is another dropping in distance after solid efforts at Gowran and Tipperary. He's another who likes the mud and should go well.

DOOROCK continues in good form after his game victory at Bellewstown two starts ago. That effort was over this trip and he has no problem with cut in the ground. Ideal Appeal has chased the selection home on her past two outings and can give him most to do with a 1lb pull in the weights. Triple Axel went well at Dundalk and has chances if going on this testing surface.

Aidan O'Brien introduces two fillies by Sadler's Wells here so both should be suited by this distance and testing conditions. The betting will be telling but ROMAN EMPRESS just gets the nod on breeding but Chirkova is another to keep a close eye on. Latin Love made a pleasing start to her career when fourth in a decent Leopardstown contest last time and should have learnt from the experience, while A Girl is another nicely-bred newcomer from the John Oxx yard and worth a betting market check.

ARD NA GREINE looks the one to beat if he handles these much softer conditions than those he met on his all-Weather debut at Dundalk last time. He showed plenty of promise there and should enjoy this trip. Loch Long wasn't beaten far when third on debut at Leopardstown and should improve for that outing, while John Oxx has a great record in this race so don't rule out his Zarinski, despite his modest effort at Galway last time. He's been given a break since that debut and should have more to offer.

Plenty of talent here despite the small field. Leg Spinner has class but this trip is on the short side and he will have a repeat win in the Cesarewitch later this month on his agenda. There preference is for NEW ZEALAND who is another talented stayer but one that also has winning form over this trip. He boxed on for second in the St Leger last time and is improving. Via Galilei has had a good season and likes this trip on soft ground, while Daasij is on the upgrade.

John Oxx won this last year and can repeat the feat with SHAMIRAN. He was a good second on his comeback run at Cork last time and has a bright future over middle-distances. Stablemate Rayina was impressive enough when winning her maiden over 1m4f in the soft, her stamina and liking for the ground put her right in the frame here. Elsewhere, Shinkansen won with plenty in hand at Roscommon last time and can go well again despite a 15lb hike up the weights.

WASHINGTON IRVING has run in some classy races so it's about time he landed his first win. He was last seen in the St Leger after acting as a pacemaker in the Derby and Irish equivalent. He was a good second at Leopardstown two starts ago and should go well. Timari shaped really well in a Curragh maiden last time over this trip and can make his presence felt, while Gratified has shown bits and pieces of form so far and has each-way claims.

Two miles will be a long way in this ground so NOBLE CRUSADER's stamina will be a huge asset. He ran over 3m in a hurdle race last time and has winning form beyond this distance. He's in good heart and should run well. Splurge was an easy hurdles winner last time and can translate that form to the level. He goes in the soft, while Mick Kinane is an interesting booking for bumper winner Puyol who likes this trip and is worth a second look despite returning from a lay-off.
