Dermot Weld's Custom Cut will be expected to go well first time out and warrants the utmost respect, but experience often proves decisive in these events and PERFECT GODESS gets the vote. Brian Nolan's charge relished the step up to 6f when finishing second to a horse that has since finished third in a Listed contest and this Antonius Pius filly could have more in the locker. Cheerful Giver was disappointing latest when attempting to built on a promising debut but may be happier on better ground tonight.

Following an authoritative success over this C&D, MAAREK stayed on well to get within half a lenth of landing a 30-runner handicap at the Curragh latest and, rated only 2lb higher now, he can regain the winning thread in what appears to be a weaker race. The Reaper remains in good form but continues to rise in the handicap and the biggest threat may be Speed Dream, a 6f winner at the Curragh when last seen ten months ago but returning off an 8lb higher mark tonight.

Maunsells Duke is sure to be a popular choice returning to turf on a 1lb lower mark then when opening his account at Dundalk in December. However, that was over 1m and he has something to prove on grass, so looks worth taking on today, possibly with SEE YOU SMILE. Liam McAteer's inmate finished a good third over C&D last month and is now racing off a 2lb lower mark, the same rating off which she notched her sole victory to date, also at this venue. Primlova continues to tumble down handicap and a bold bid would come as no surprise.

Cry For The Moon should have his say again but is creeping up the handicap without scoring, while Spring Hawk was in good form at Dundalk when last seen but the lack of a recent run is a concern. Preference is for HONEST STRIKE, who showed ability when with Henry Cecil and makes his debut for new stable tonight. Having gone well in a fair Newmarket maiden, the selection made a successful handicap debut in a 1m4f Southwell contest that has thrown up plenty of winners and, with further progress expected, he looks capable of giving weight to all these rivals.

A big improvement on his debut effort from Jim Bolger's Casimir Road would come as no surprise, but a safer option appears to be SOUL TRAIN. Making his seasonal reappearance, Dermot Weld's charge kept on well for a decent fourth over 1m at Limerick in April and, open to further progress after only two starts, he makes plenty of appeal with this sterner test of stamina sure to suit. Sam Lord's Castle has hinted at ability and is worth a second look.

CASBAH ROCK has been a revelation back on turf this season and, either side of a Dundalk second over 1m4f, has notched victories at Curragh and also at this track, both over this trip. Ger Lyons' charge has gone up 6lb in the weights but in his current form, could feasibly shrug off his latest rise. Citizenship has gone up 3lb for his head second at Leopardstown last month but remains well treated on the pick of his British form. Star Links hasn't raced since March but could feasibly break his turf maiden having improved on the all-weather over the winter.

REASONS UNKNOWN has struggled to get his head in front over middle distances this term but has been eased 1lb in the weights since finishing third at Clonmel and is likely to benefit from the drop back to a mile. Suspect Device returned to form when second over 6f here last month but appeared out-paced in the closing stages that day and should appreciate the return to this trip, over which he was second off this mark at Dundalk in April. Mellow Manner ran with promise on her handicap debut at Gowran and, off only 2lb higher, is another to consider.
