De Plotting Shed was thought of sufficient calibre to run in a competitive Listed bumper at Ascot last time when arguably slightly disappointing in finishing a well-punted fourth. Nevertheless, in the context of this contest the form reads well enough for him to go close on his hurdling debut, but narrow preference is for GURTEEN. The latter enjoys the benefit of hurdling experience when a remote second to current Supreme Novices Hurdle favourite Min but he was well clear of 19 other rivals and went on to land a Leopardstown bumper against a Mullins hotpot. Allenstown Kid has place possibilities.

Bright New Dawn, the highest rated of these over timber, has been fencing on his last 17 starts and may find things happening a little too quickly here. C&D winner Sizing Tennessee was well beaten on his comeback run after two years off and the market should inform as to his well-being, while Prussian Eagle hasn't been seen since posting a close second at the Curragh last autumn. Cliffside Park and Roman Gold cannot be discounted in an open contest, but NOBLE INN will be tough to beat if reproducing the level of form that saw him run out a facile winner at Clonmel on his penultimate start.

Having looked useful on his first two starts, Conal was a well-beaten last of six at Thurles last time and the jury is out at present so he's probably best watched here. Last Goodbye has more obvious claims as the Doyle inmate seeks a three-timer and still looked far from the finished article when scoring at Wexford last October, although he hasn't been seen since. In contrast, VICTORY MILL produced a far more polished performance when scoring with something to spare at Fairyhouse in late-December and is taken to follow up that stylish success here. He looks a decent prospect.

Born Noble, a winner of one of her two point-to-point starts back in 2012, was off for nearly three years before running a pleasing fourth at Punchestown behind Queens Wild, but she clearly has problems as she hasn't been seen since that run nearly a year ago. Captain Bizarro has some decent pointing form and needs checking in the market but this looks a strong opportunity for the consistent, if hitherto luckless, WOODFORD ISLAND to get off the mark after a series of highly consistent efforts in better company. Stable companion Be The Hero needs monitoring in the market too.

ANGUS MILAN travelled well on the heavy at Down Royal latest when running out a smooth winner and rates a decent prospect to follow up off a 7lb higher mark in a contest where strong form is notably absent. Noel Kelly's Milan gelding remains open to considerable improvement after just half a dozen starts over timber and can concede weight all round. Smoking Big Cigars, backed into favouritism on his return to action last November(seventh of 22), retains scope for progress after just a handful of starts, while Killdunne is the one to monitor in the market after a 548-day absence.

The form of Fascino Rustico rather fell away towards the end of last season after a very promising spell in novice hurdles for Dan Skelton and it will be fascinating to see how he fares in the market on this first start for Gordon Elliott as he makes his chasing debut. It's tempting to go along with him as he's definitely one to note over fences, but ARCTIC SKIPPER has posted two excellent efforts over the larger obstacles behind the likes of Measureofmydreams and Killultagh Vic and could make his experience tell. Champagne James isn't ruled out either.

FLEMENSTORM seeks the hat-trick after going up a stone for two heavy ground successes in recent weeks. He's yet to perform over this trip over fences but a Fairyhouse success on his penultimate start indicates it will be well within his compass. His latest victory over Sunsetstorise was achieved in taking fashion and has been boosted by the latter's success at Fairyhouse this week. Montana Slim remains capable despite his advancing years and is respected along with White Arm, who clearly has ability but looks quirky too. He rates the main threat, though, with Milan Flyer also interesting after an absence.
