Dual scorer Barney Dwan should post a strong effort in his hat-trick attempt, but MILES TO MILAN has created a pleasing impression on both starts. He looked most promising when displaying a good attitude to repel all challengers over C&D latest and the forecast heavy ground will hold no terrors for the son of Milan. Mountain Eagle looks best of the Fry duo, especially with promising Liam McKenna claiming a valuable 7lb in testing conditions. Mr Mix has each-way claims for Paul Nicholls.

Allee Bleue showed improved form when landing a maiden hurdle in convincing fashion from the well-touted Travertine and should prove hard to beat if continuing his upward trajectory. However, he concedes 13lb to AIR HORSE ONE with Liam McKenna's claim taken into account and the latter is a hopeful choice in the belief that Harry Fry has sharpened up his charge's hurdling technique after a slipshod performance at Kempton in November. French import Clic Work is also interesting on debut for the champion trainer.

AIR HORSE ONE was found out by some novicey jumping on his hurdling bow but that's sure to have been worked on in the 2 months since and his bumper ability suggests he can win a race like this. Recent Huntingdon scorer Allee Bleue should go well, while the Paul Nicholls-trained French recruit Clic Work is another interesting runner, particularly if the betting speaks in his favour.

Somerset Lias has delivered some fair form on heavy ground, while Badger Wood looks on a decent mark for this chasing debut but has yet to encounter ground this deep. Eaton Rock is well respected on the best of his form and handles the ground but his overall profile is rather inconsistent and Bredon Hill Lad is another not to be discounted. However, a chance is taken on REBEL BENEFIT, open to more improvement than most, a dual pointing winner and on a feasible mark.

SOME BUCKLE ran better on his first run for Paul Nicholls than the actual statistics indicate and is taken to defy top weight. The prime concern is the ground but he's proficient on soft and will hopefully handle these deeper conditions after that promising performance in a competitive Cheltenham handicap. Laser Hawk has had his problems and would be a danger to all if back to his best but Sandy Beach, a good second at Newbury latest, looms as the largest threat.

SOME BUCKLE looks the ideal type for chasing and he has sound prospects of opening his account at the first time of asking over fences following a promising return for his powerful new yard at Cheltenham in December. Foxcub, normally most consistent, was well beaten at Cheltenham last time, perhaps significantly his first venture onto heavy ground. With similar conditions sure to pertain here, he's passed over. Blue Buttons has winning heavy ground form to her name but faces a career-high mark, so WINNING SPARK is taken to continue his resurgence at the age of nine. He'd plenty in hand when scoring here earlier in the month, handles conditions and remains on an attractive mark. Spice Fair is also worthy of shortlist inclusion.
