Having finished midfield in a Listed race at the Curragh earlier in the month, Possible is a potential improver now dropping back into handicap company, while the chances of C&D winners Stones Peak and Allegra Tak look obvious in view of their recent consistency. Preferred ahead of all, however, is EDENSHAW, who was headed close home on heavy ground when second at the Curragh last time and looks weighted to gain compensation now back in trip with Shane Gray taking a valuable 4lb off his back.

All nine of these maiden runners are making their racecourse debut so the market should be monitored closely for clues before parting with any cash. Ballydoyle are triple-handed and their Galileo colt GREAT EXPLORER, a 170,000-euro yearling who holds three Classic entries for next season, looks the pick ahead of Indian Chief and Piet Mondrian. Dermot Weld's Manhattan Swing and Loch Garman, representing Jim Bolger, are two others worthy of shortlist inclusion.

Harmonic Note is respected now moving into handicaps for the first time, although he did look a little one-paced when fourth over this track and trip two weeks ago and may be seen to best effect over further. Preference is for LAKE LOUISE, who has been raised 7lb for scoring over 6f at the Curragh recently but is bred to stay this longer trip and is expected to improve for it. Estinaad, a fair handicap debut second over 7f at Fairyhouse latest, is another potential improver now granted a stiffer test.

MORGA sets the clear form standard based on her second over C&D two weeks ago. Jim Bolger's charge has shown plenty of promise on both outings this month and will be all the wiser for the experience gained last time, battling on to finish a clear second and pulling over four lengths clear of the rest of the field. Nabat Ali is entitled to improve for this stiffer test and merits inclusion on the shortlist along with Good On Numbers, although both look to be vying for second spot at best.

EXACT has been knocking hard on the door in maiden company but keeps on finding one or two too strong. However, now turning his attention to handicaps and dropping back to 1m, Aidan O'Brien's consistent colt is expected to gain deserved compensation. Madeira Girl failed to justify market support at Cork last weekend but had previously scored with such authority at the Curragh that a return to form in first-time blinkers cannot be ruled out. Fast On, second behind the last-named on his penultimate outing, appeals most of the remainder.

Very few of these can be completely written off in what looks a very trappy affair. A tentative vote goes the way of RIGOLETTA, who returned to the winner's enclosure in testing conditions at Fairyhouse last month and looks open to more improvement over the trip now moving back into handicaps. Recent Curragh runner-up Jeremy's Girl will appreciate this extra furlong and can battle it out with Mamma Rosa, beaten less than a length off this mark over 1m at Cork latest, for the minor placings.

SAINT GERVAIS, who is rated 129 over hurdles and a dual winner in that sphere, looks the one to be on now making his handicap debut on the level off 84. He's earned his rating after three creditable turf efforts this year and there was plenty to like about his latest second to the smart Missunited (subsequent Irish Cesarewitch runner-up) at Listowel. Others to consider are Seventh Sign, who had rattled off a hat-trick prior to flopping at the Curragh latest, and The Four Elms, who is upped in trip as he bids to shrug off a 9lb rise for scoring over 1m3f at Limerick.
