RAVEN RIDGE followed two smart rivals home on debut at Doncaster, with the form boosted by the winner acquitting himself well in competitive nursery company next time and the second landing a Goodwood maiden. He is entitled to come on for the experience and is selected ahead of Mayfield Boy, who shaped as though further would suit when beating home Little Bruv over 7f at Beverley, and 55,000gns debutant Think Ahead, who is a half-brother to juvenile winner Four Better.

UPHOLLAND was sent off hot favourite at Hamilton after a decent effort in competitive maiden company on debut at Glorous Goodwood and despite disappointing, he has experience on his side and should enjoy the increase in trip. Newcomers Nabeel, who is out of a juvenile 7f winner and is a half-sister to another winner over this trip, and Lat Hawill, who cost 230,000gns, should be closely monitored for support in the betting.

Intrinsic was weak in the market when delivering an acceptable effort to finish third when dropped in trip at Yarmouth, while Millkwood has been banging on the door over the minimum distance but has yet to place over 6f and doesn't look certain to oblige over the extra yardage on pedigree either. It might be worth trying FANOOS, who comes back from 709 days off for a new yard but showed some promise as a juvenile.

RUFOOF was expensive to follow as a maiden but finally got off the mark at the sixth attempt at Lingfield and, with his confidence boosted by that success and having run well off this mark in a handicap before, she looks the one to go with. Dance For Georgie looks the biggest threat and had Graceful Act and First Class Favour behind her at Catterick and she looks capable of confirming that form despite being 3lb worse off here.

KNIGHTLY ESCAPADE was well supported on his hurdling debut but only managed a distant third, but had shown signs of stamina on the level before, finishing second and third on his two efforts over 1m6f, and this step up in distance can see him go close again. Hunters Belt is well below his last winning mark on the Flat and has won over timber so the trip isn't a worry, while Almost Gemini would be a threat if transferring his polytrack form on to turf.

KING PIN has been on the end of a couple of narrow defeats recently but looks in good heart and, returning to a track and trip he won over earlier in the season off just 3lb higher, he seems the one to go for. I'm Super Too was third over C&D off 7lb higher in May and could give a good account, while Chiswick Bey, Jupiter Fidius and The Blue Banana all arrive fresh from the winner's enclosure and warrant respect.

Windforpower had to fall to his lowest career mark before narrowly getting his head in front at Musselburgh and although it is conceivable that he could strike again on these terms, it might be better to go for LORD BUFFHEAD, who showed renewed promise when third at Hamilton last week and races off just 3lb higher than his last winning mark. Balinka is a relatively lightly raced filly who ran well to finish third over C&D and warrants a market check.

WICKED WILMA continues to slide down the weights and is the best part of two stone lower than her last winning mark so could bounce back. She gets the tentative vote ahead of Thatcherite, who was well backed when fourth last time and could get amongst it again. Black Douglas is better than he showed when seventh at Ayr yesterday and should not be ruled out.
