RHAGORI produced an encouraging debut performance when third behind subsequent Fillies' Mile third Firdaws and as a daughter of Exceed And Excel, she may be suited by the drop to this trip. Taffe was unfancied when filling second place at Catterick last time but will need to improve again, while Merv is improving slowly but was beaten a fair way at Goodwood, so his stablemate Madame Feu could be a better option on her debut.

Surely This Time made it 13th time lucky when scoring at Newcastle and is a threat now he's picked up the winning thread, while Whitecrest's confidence is sure to be high after landing the spoils at Lingfield last time. Yasmeena was disappointing in the mud at Sandown though should be better on this ground, but preference is for BEST BE CAREFUL. Mark Usher's filly also enjoys a sound surface so her close-up fifth on good to soft ground last time was commendable.

A competitive affair, with slight preference for CHOKUREI. Clive Cox's filly fared best of those to race up with the pace at Salisbury last time and with this extra furlong likely to play to her strengths, she can strike. Semmsu blitzed the field at Folkestone but may prefer more give in the ground, while Quadrant sluiced up in a maiden at Ffos Las but his previous attempt in handicaps was poor. It's too early to write off Godolphin filly Tanaami, while El Wasmi is another to note.

Saeed bin Suroor's formidable record at this track means newcomer Layali Dubai merits respect, while fellow Godolphin challenger Tactfully boasts some regal breeding and is another to note. FARLEAZE has already proven herself on the track, however, finishing close to the very smart Fallen For You on her last start at Newmarket, and she could put that experience to good use. James Given's pair of Baileys Over Ice and Sally Pepper have shown some promise so far and are worth a look.

William Haggas appears to have a strong hand in this courtesy of newcomer Martine's Spirit and the experienced SHUHRA. The latter started her career with a third over C&D and has not been disgraced over longer distances since, so could prove the one to beat. Korithi plugged on for fourth at Pontefract but may lack the speed for this distance, so the biggest danger could be Sadeek's Song, who ran green before staying on nicely enough on his debut at Kempton.

Stamina will be at a premium in this staying test for juveniles and the stoutly-bred BETTER BE MINE could take advantage of a feather weight. John Dunlop's charge finished half a length away at Kempton last time and the way she stayed on, this distance could be the making of her. Tiger Cub has been fairly ineffective in three maidens but may fare better off what looks a fair mark, while Le Cagnard is another who may be happier now in nurseries.

JAMES POLLARD won for today's jockey at Pontefract before going close over timber and then sparkling again on the level at Ffos Las, and he could strike despite another 5lb hike. Desert Vision has been given just a 3lb rise for his Carlisle win which could prove generous, while Gallego struggled off his new mark at Leicester last time but may benefit from this longer trip. Petsas Pleasure and Potentiale also merit respect.
