KNOCKMAOLE BOY can be forgiven a poor effort when only beating one home in a Galway handicap having been turned out very quickly after winning one two days earlier. He returns to hurdling and has the assistance of Richard Johnson in the saddle where he can get back on track despite carrying a double penalty. Coolmeen Hill got off the mark over timber at Ballinrobe last time and is one to watch on his debut for Susan Corbett, while Sense Of Urgency took a step forward from her first outing over timber over C&D when runner-up to Man Look and can find further improvement here.

This doesn't look a particularly strong contest on paper so the vote goes to the in-form PIKARNIA. The son of Authorized hasn't looked back since winning a Sedgefield handicap at the end of March and has been fairly consistent having made the frame on all his starts since. Bridane Rebel disappointed on her handicap debut but is capable of better, while Galveston has to be respected for Gordon Elliott returning from over a year off the track.

FLYING EAGLE improved markedly when jumping a lot better at Cartmel last month to land a beginners chase in easy enough fashion and a return to handicap company after a confidence-boosting success shouldn't pose any cause for concern. I'm An Izz Wizz warrants plenty of respect coming over from Ireland despite carrying 10lb more than his Wexford win with Richard Johnson taking the ride, while Beau Bay has been consistent over timber and could improve now going chasing.

MIRSAALE has a fine course record having won all his starts (3/3) and a 3lb rise in the weights may underestimate the authority in which he won his latest outing at the track when beating Dear Sire who, despite meeting the selection on better terms, does need to improve to beat Keith Dalgliesh's gelding. Lovato may prove the main threat as he has been hugely progressive in novice hurdles so far.

Past course-winning form is often imperative at this venue, and SOLWAY DANDY could add to his past two successful raids at this venue. The 10-year-old drops in class after running on well in a hotter race than this at Market Rasen last time out, and although a mark of 122 leaves little room for error, he may well still prove good enough. Ahead Of The Curve didn't jump particularly well over fixed brush hurdles last time but could do better here, with hat-trick chasing Thorpe another name to consider.

URTHEONEIWANT is on a career-high rating now for Gordon Elliott but the past course and distance winner continues in good form and should be suited by this better ground than she encountered at Wexford last time. The booking of Richard Johnson looks significant, and the pair can account for fellow Irish raider Apache Jack, who returned to form at Cartmel last time following a three-month break. Johnny Go won well here earlier this month but does have form to make up on the selection based on early season form.

Carrying a penalty in such events is rarely easy and that is the task that faces Secret Escape, who did the job well at Stratford last month for Donald McCain. She is entitled to close consideration, but could struggle against a potential nice type in the shape of SILK RUN. Tom Lacey has some nice types coming through the ranks, and this four-year-old is related to plenty of winners. Shillelagh Tiara is entitled to do much better than what she showed on racecourse bow at Wexford 22 days ago and has to be respected.
