This might not take much winning and it's worth siding with LIVING PROOF, who hadn't shown much over hurdles until finishing a close second over 2m 4f at Fontwell last month. She's up 5lb and in class but a repeat of that effort should be enough to land the spoils here. Dot Or Feather has finished third in his last two starts while Salford Rose could be improving but they have both been well beaten of late and need to improve. Halucha is clearly on an upward curve and looks the one for the forecast.

This looks a good opportunity for DICA to open his account over fences at the second time of asking. His jumping wasn't always foot perfect on his chasing debut when third over 2m 6f at Cartmel in August but he ran pretty well for a long way before tiring late on. Over this shorter trip and with the recent experience under his belt, he can score here. The danger looks to be Olympian, who needs to improve on his two efforts over fences, but could put his experience to good advantage while Stratford hurdles winner Reg's Ruby could go well first time over fences.

In a wide-open contest, it might pay to stick with BACK TO PARIS, who scored over 2m at Uttoxeter last Sunday. He's taken a while to get the hang of things over timber and carries a 7lb penalty today but still looks open to some improvement. The danger could prove to be Munich, who has progressed on his three runs over timber but looks to have plenty of weight in his handicap debut. Phoenix Eye has sound claims off this mark on his best form but hasn't won for more than two years.

Alarming Alacarity ran well for a fair way on his hurdling debut in this grade at Stratford but looks to have plenty on his plate on his first run for 13 months. Run Along Boy has been placed in four of his last six starts over timber but is flattered by his form figures and needs to raise his game. QUIET WHISPER looks the one to beat. A C&D winner in May, he's run with credit since in handicap company and looks far too good for these rivals.

Nicky Nutjob scored by six lengths at Hereford in August but has to carry another 9lb here while his record of two wins from 26 starts over timber tells its own story. Before Bruce has shown signs of ability but is not the most consistent and needs to step up a gear. It's worth taking a chance on POBS TROPHY, who won off a 5lb higher mark at Plumpton last November. He's struggled since but showed signs of a return to form when fourth at the same track last month and hasn't too much more to find here.

Von Galen won this last year off a 7lb higher mark but makes little appeal on recent efforts. Ballygulleen and Overton Lad have claims on their best form but don't look at their peak while Keltic Lord can never be overlooked but, at 15 years of age, can't have many pay days left. MARKED MAN is the same age but won off this mark at Worcester last summer. His recent second at the same track suggests he still retains his enthusiasm for the game and he's taken to win the battle of the veterans.

North Yorkshire trainer Alan Swinbank has an outstanding record in these contests and the fact he's sent THE FERICK all the way down here for his debut is a tip in itself. The well-bred five-year-old cost 21,000 pounds as a yearling and should make his first appearance in public a winning one. Dirty Bertie and Ballyturn Boy look the pick of those with experience but have plenty to find and another debutant, Numerology, could prove the danger.
