Verdict

Explosive Fox has not won over obstacles for two and a half years but Mr. Ironman won here in October and stable form demands respect. Elsie's Pride looks to be too high in the weights after failing to follow-up his Fontwell win carrying a penalty but the strong staying qualities of BIG AL give him the edge on a track that test a horse to the maximum. He looks the one to be on in the opener.

Seven Is Lucky is getting better with each run, while Rosie All Over returns to the scene of her triumph in November and both come into the reckoning. See More Jock landed a novice handicap in such good style at Wincanton last time he too must be considered but the Nick Gifford-trained PUSH THE PORT can solve this very competitive heat. Verdict

Roaringwater arrives here in good heart with two recent victories in selling hurdles boosting his confidence but more reliable is what both Kiltimoney and BLAZING HILLS bring to the table. The former has got his act together over fences and will mount a serious challenge to the latter who has a rock solid record over the twigs and, with Andrew Thornton in the saddle, the one to be on at a course that demands sound jumping.

Verdict

Too many unknowns to be confident but Plumpton bumper winners Aya and LATANIER stand out of those with experience. The latter was the more impressive of the two and is taken to defy his penalty. Of the rest, Wolf Warning should be noted for any support in the betting and Lord Larsson ran well for a long way at Newcastle last time.
