Jimmy The Lollipop wasn't too far behind when third in handicap company at Ripon last time out and having scored in a claimer here two starts ago, the Kevin Ryan charge is certainly one to be wary of. LATTE gets the vote, however, and can be forgiven his last effort at Leicester where the ground appeared to come too quick for him. His six-length romp at Yarmouth the time before is hard to ignore and a return to that form would come as no surprise. Factor Three is another to keep onside in the first-time cheekpieces.

Chokidar is beginning prove expensive to follow and while the Dandy Nicholls charge clearly travels well into his races, the son of Sleeping Indian looks a tricky ride when asked for his effort. For that reason, a chance is taken on DUCAL. Sir Mark Prescott and Seb Sanders can boast an impressive record at this venue and the three-year-old son of Iceman is beginning to show signs of life following a lacklustre start. Good Authority is another with claims with improvement expected.

Monumental Man can boast the most experience of these maidens and having earned a rating of 69, the gelded son of Vital Equine is worthy of consideration in the first-time cheekpieces. Fillies generally have a tough task on their hands against the boys but it would be no surprise to see ART SHOW break her duck. The Dutch Art filly has contested two reasonable maidens at Yarmouth and Kempton respectively and is likely to have come on again for her second start. Kieren Fallon keeps the ride, which is another positive while of the others, Whatyoucallit could get competitive.

C&D winner Sharp Shoes is likely to attract obvious support in this handicap over the minimum distance and running 2lb well in at the weights, the four-year-old is expected to make the frame. HOWYADOINGNOTSOBAD got off the mark over C&D last month and a 6lb rise in the ratings looks fair, as there should be plenty more to come from this improving Karen George representative. Kieren Fox takes off a useful 3lb in the saddle but it is worth keeping an eye on Colourbearer and Towy Boy, who might be on offer at tempting prices.

Uphold would be dangerous if allowed a soft lead at the head of affairs, however, Gay Kelleway's charge isn't the most straightforward of rides and changes headgear in an attempt to return to winning ways. There is probably better to come from Ahlawy now lowering his sights and returned to plating level, but Tom Eaves' confidence will be riding high after his Group 1 victory aboard Tangerine Trees at Longchamp last weekend and his booking looks significant for RAVI RIVER, who stays this far and enjoyed plenty of success on polytrack earlier in his career.

The return to polytrack sparked improvement from Cathcart Castle here last time and there could be feasibly more to come from the Mick Channon inmate under a penalty. However, at the likely prices, there could be some mileage in taking him on with bottom-weight PRINCESS GAIL, a three-year-old filly taking on her elders after a fair fourth behind the first-named here latest. Mark Brisbourne's charge is 6lb better off at the revised terms and is taken to return to winning ways. Excellent Vision is only 3lb higher than when winning over C&D in August and is another to consider with the useful Ryan Clark continuing in the plate.

Battle of Britain may try and make this a proper test now dropped back in trip but there should be plenty queueing up in behind, looking to pick him off up the straight. Blue Moon is respected after a fair third on turf at Musselburgh last time and will appreciate the return to polytrack but the vote goes to SOUND AMIGO, who has the advantage of a low draw and is open to improvement over this longer trip having scored over 7f here latest. Lockantanks and Standpoint are others handicapped to go close, although Chris Catlin will have to overcome a wide draw if the latter is to open his all-weather account.

PRIME CIRCLE benefitted from the re-fitting of cheekpieces when scoring over C&D last month and looks one of the better treated rivals in the race now he escapes a penalty and his revised mark (was due to be dropped 2lb prior to his victory) has kicked in. Others to consider are Appyjack, for whom Neil Callan looks a significant booking by Tony Carroll, and Yellow Printer, third off this mark at Kempton latest. Hilbre Court is not out of this either if fully wound up to go on his first start in almost 12 months.
