THE BLACK CLOUD has shown enough in two starts to suggest he is up to taking this maiden event and, having recorded a good speed figure when last sighted, the Michael Ferraro charge would appear to have enough pace to win over this 6f trip. Morden and Slytopia look the best of the rest.
DOROTHY'S ESSENSE displayed an eye-catching turn of foot when last sighted over the extended 5f here but the five-year-old mare was challenging all too late and this step up to 6f looks ideal. Frankies Dream and the reopposing Saltinthecity make most appeal elsewhere.
RELATIVELY READY needed every yard of this trip last time out and, with proven form at this level, the gelded son of More Than Ready is expected to take all the beating. Gargantua is worthy of another chance having been disqualified in August while Outside Love is another holding his form well.
A competitive claimer and while the hat-trick-seeking Scibelli commands the utmost respect, BRIDGE TO NOWHERE is preferred. The nine-time career winner has finished in the first two on his last five outings and is clearly thriving at this level. Patiently ridden tactics can prove profitable again but keep an eye on Bedrock Blues, who has come back to his best.
Newman Rocks and Brooklyn Bound are capable of making their presence felt now eased in grade but the vote goes to CHALECO, who rattled the crossbar over C&D last month to advertise his wellbeing and can confirm placings with Justfortherecord (third) to land the spoils.
Hellacious Cat is entitled to improve with the benefit of his debut run behind him and now upped in trip but the vote goes to FORMAL PRINCESS, who generally gives her running and is rarely far away over C&D. Out By Tomorrow completes the shortlist.
DRINK AT LAST CALL scored in style in an $8k claimer over C&D latest and is taken to follow up now operating at this lower level. The main danger appears to be Alcanudance, who faded over further at Presque Isle Downs last time. Smokin Warrior and Final Peak are also capable of making their presence felt.
He's A Buster landed a C&D event last month but will need to raise his game to follow up in this tougher race. Of more interest is ANDRETTI, who was noted as putting in his best work in the closing stages last time and shapes as if this longer trip will suit. Crown's Dominion also merits consideration.
SMALL TOWN is holding his form well at present, building upon his C&D victory in August when landing the silver medal here latest, and looks the one to be on. Hi Poppy and Cinner Dave can scrap it out for the minor placings.
