BELL HEATHER has a good recent record here, with a win backed up by a good third in a similar contest last time, and the daughter of Iffraaj remains capable of landing another prize off her current mark. Upended was no match for Bombero at Nottingham on heavy ground but is an interesting contender making his all-weather debut, while Celtic Artisan completes the shortlist.

LA ISLA BONITA has struck up a good rapport with Jenny Powell, having recorded a solid win and placed efforts over the extended 7f here last month. The daughter of Foxwedge looks one who is ready to strike judged on her second at Chelmsford on Thursday. Jack Of Diamonds should figure prominently if building on a good effort at Salisbury last time while Dream Magic has been running consistently well of late and can go close again.

ALNASL followed up her C&D victory when striking over 1m1f at Musselburgh last time and is expected to give another good account now switching back to Tapeta off a 6lb higher mark. Maraakib rattled the crossbar over 1m2f at Epsom and has viable place claims, while it will be interesting to see if there is any money for Vastly, a C&D winner who has been off the track since landing minor money off 1lb higher at Chelmsford 12 months ago.

HORSTED KEYNES struck over this trip at Yarmouth in June and is expected to give a good account of himself from a low draw. Al Khan went close in a Beverley claimer last time, with Tatlisu back in sixth, and both runners warrant plenty of respect on these terms. The pick of the remainder may be Michele Strogoff, who has been competing in some tough handicaps and may improve for dropping in class.

Simon Crisford has an excellent 14-46 record at this venue since taking out his license three years ago and his ARIZONA MIST shaped like a winner in waiting when second at Ripon last time out. The two-year-old didn't have a clear run and has been found a nice opening to score here. Midsummer Knight has been held behind a smart rival the last twice and is interesting here back from a 96-day break, while recent Southwell scorer Royal Diplomat looks best of the remainder.

Hugo Palmer is 6-16 with two-year-olds at this venue in the last five years and his CENTRAL CITY looks poised to shed the maiden tag. Six furlongs looks to be his trip and a first try on Tapeta could prove to be the making of this gelding, who was deemed good enough to run in a valuable Goodwood nursery just five weeks ago. Mr Wagyu had his excuses when attempting to land a hat-trick at Thirsk in July and could bounce back, while the in-form Flo's Melody could be better than a mark of 65 and merits consideration.

The well-bred GOLD STAR confirmed the promise he had shown on debut when winning well at Newbury next time out and he may be underestimated by an opening mark of 88. Abjar is another unexposed three-year-old son of Nathaniel who should have more to offer as he gets older and the he warrants a place on the shortlist. Laqab is surely better than what he showed on his seasonal return and it is too soon to be writing him off.

FROZON broke his maiden tag when winning over C&D last month and a 3lb rise in the ratings for that success appears to be lenient. Tingo In The Tale is another last-time-out victor to note following his run at Nottingham a few weeks ago. The likes of Life Of Luxury, Powered and Stonecoldsoba are not regular winners but they are capable of making the frame in a race of this nature.
