Gran Canaria Queen and Red Shadow have both won here recently but their respective strike-rates temper enthusiasm. Invigilator is closely matched with the latter on last week's running but it could pay to side with PORTRUSH STORM, who has gone well since being dropped back in trip and came agonizingly close to following up her Chepstow success at Chester latest. Having won at this venue in the past, the return to polytrack is no concern.

NOT NOW BLONDIE did well to get within a length and a quarter at Yarmouth last week on ground much softer than ideal and she looks the one to be on here, now back on a suitable surface and only 1lb higher than scoring here in August. Mrs Warren continues to slide down the ratings and could be feasibly treated on his polytrack debut, while Ouzinkie bids for a C&D double but this is tougher than the seller he won 11 days ago.

GABRIAL THE MASTER did not improve on his promising Chester debut effort at Haydock last time but it would be no surprise to see him fare much better this evening. He is preferred to Choral Prince but Bin Singspiel, Bubbly Bailey, Cafe Society, Douglas Pasha and Mandy The Nag all make some appeal on debut and any confidence behind any of them would be very interesting indeed. Khotan might do better when tackling handicaps.

High 'n Dry ran well on her return from a lengthy absence and merits the utmost respect along with Cobbs Quay. Goal is also worthy of consideration and Kathleensluckylad can take a hand despite a 5lb rise for his C&D success last week. NEIGE D'ANTAN got off the mark over 1m2f at Kempton last month and there could still be a little more to come from her. In an open contest, she edges the verdict.

CAPTAIN MCCAW took a step in the right direction when runner-up over 6f here on his handicap debut last month and he looks sure to give another good account tonight, with the step up to 7f likely to suit. Red Dragon was not disgraced at Kempton latest and he might still have more to offer so he makes the shortlist. Gravitational is respected on his handicap bow and first-time blinkered Jumeirah Moon also merits consideration.

SENNOCKIAN STAR has been raised 4lb for his Chester handicap debut success last month but there could be plenty more improvement to come from him and he has solid claims here. The Obvious Choice has shown glimmers of promise in maidens and he is certainly worth a second look on his first foray into handicap company. The application of blinkers and the step up to 7f could help Ighraa and she is also considered.

LULLA has been off the track for a long time but she achieved a rating of 81 as a juvenile and if she can run up to that here then she will take all the beating. If she is a little rusty then the one to take advantage could be Gaelic Wizard. A reproduction of his Ffos Las second last month would certainly give him a big chance. Crazy Too and Silkee Supreme could also be in the mix.

CRITICAL POINT won with a bit in hand over 1m4f at Brighton last month and that form has since been franked by the runner-up, Blue Dune, so a 7lb rise looks fair. Norfolk Sky has been raised 6lb for her C&D success last month but that might not stop her from going well once more. Kashgar has each-way claims and Inniscastle Boy should not be overlooked, even though he disappointed when favourite here last time.
