Verdict
QUEBECOIS was out of his depth in a Grade 2 at Sandown, but that performance is sandwiched between a couple of promising seconds. The latest saw him denied by the narrowest of margins on Trials Day at Cheltenham and he can boost his confidence before a potential return there next month. Personal Ambition has lost his way, but the application of blinkers could help him recapture the form that saw him claim Grade 2 glory as a novice hurdler. Old Cowboy struck over C&D before a Kempton fall, but concedes weight to higher-rated opponents.
Expert View Verdict
2m may be on the sharp side for QUEBECOIS but his narrow handicap defeat last time is the strongest recent form on offer and he could be tough to catch if employing similar tactics dwon in trip. He's been highly tried in his short career and could prove a class apart from these rivals. His competition up front is likely to come from C&D winner Old Cowboy who would've followed up last time but for a late spill. He's progressing over fences and looks the biggest threat ahead of the more experienced Personal Ambition who brings in some Grade 2 form but has been out of sorts of late. His revival hopes rest on the addition of blinkers.
