LYRICS OF LIFE couldn't land a blow in the Sandringham Stakes at Royal Ascot but must have a great chance dropping markedly in class for this maiden. She isn't going to get many better opportunities to break through. Like the selection, Quisana sports a first-time hood and could improve on her form to make a race of it. Fallen Logic is up against it.

PUNCHBOWL FLYER arrives in the middle of a real purple patch and the wily nine-year-old is difficult to get away from chasing three wins on the spin. He gamely doubled up at Ffos Las following an all-the-way success over 6f here and another bold showing looks assured. Savannah Smiles and So Smart bring winning C&D form to the table and are others to bear in mind.

BLONDIE LARRY improved from his first run at Nottingham when finishing second at Windsor and, with more progression to come, Jamie Osborne's juvenile looks to have a novice heat like this well within his compass. Amber Ocean finished an encouraging second on her debut at Wolverhampton in April and has been given time to strengthen up, while Chilli isn't out of it.

The decision to turn STENMARK out quickly following last week's close second at Epsom suggests he's come out of that race in good nick and the manner of that performance gives hope this step back up to a mile will suit. Dappled Light couldn't complete the three-timer at Ffos Las but certainly cannot be given up on, while Penelope Valentine is another to consider closely.

TOMARLO is the only runner arriving with recent winning form after scoring by a length at Wolverhampton last week. With the excellent Billy Loughnane in the saddle, he seems likely to put in a big run, despite his 5lb penalty, with the added furlong an interesting move. Autumn Angel has been knocking on the door with a pair of seconds here over 6f but an added 2lb may anchor her chances, while Ravenglass is also noted.

Connie's Rose has a good record here with seven victories at the track, but despite some placed efforts she has struggled to get to the front in her last 10 starts. Be An Angel is due to go up 2lb for future contests after winning at Salisbury last week but may struggle in this grade, with OUTER EDGE preferred. Chris Mason has his local string in fine form lately and as the five-year-old has won twice off higher marks, once over C&D, he could be the value call.

A small but competitive field headed by Aravalli, a neck winner here over 1m4f last week. Due to go up 2lb, she carries a 6lb penalty leaving her with more to find, and with the drop in trip a question mark. TIME AFTER TIME might be the answer. The four-year-old steps up in distance after being outpaced at Bath off 2lb higher and the application of cheekpieces for the first time gives her the oppportunity to bounce back. Bumaan heads the remainder.

Form Snapshot

A wide-open handicap with seasoned handicappers and plenty of unexposed youngsters. There is a strong suspicion that Ghayah can win off this mark if the run doesn't come too soon. Zizania Du Mazet also holds strong claims on her most recent outing, likewise Victoria. A chance though is taken on previous course winner SASSY, who is reunited with a rider that has won on her before and has returned to a fair mark.
