Olly Murphy representative GETAWAY LUV took a step in the right direction when runner-up over a similar trip at Wincanton last time out and should be thereabouts if building on that performance. Heart Of A Lion landed a bumper last summer and likely has more to offer over timber than what he showed at Wetherby last month. New Zealander and Seymour Promise are others capable of taking a hand.

GLORY AND HONOUR picked up the silver medal in a bumper at Exeter and also over hurdles at Taunton latest. Tom Lacey's four-year-old is seemingly progressing and is fancied to open his account over timber. Camprond has won three times on the Flat in France and is interesting now debuting for Philip Hobbs, while the likes of Kentucky Hardboot, Methusalar and Rock The House also merit consideration in an open heat.

Harry Fry's MOMELLA was returning from a break and having her first start following wind surgery when finishing runner-up at Newton Abbot last time out, and is expected to take a forward step with the benefit of that run now behind her. She'sasupermack should similarly be sharper for her comeback outing at Ayr and can battle it out with recent Fontwell winner Midnightreferendum for the silver medal.

Fairway Freddy was a little disappointing at Wincanton latest and although he beat ROCK ON ROCCO at Kempton the time before, the latter is 4lb better off at these weights and is fancied to reverse that form en route to going one better in this event. That outing 34 days ago was the selection's first run since February, as well as his debut over fences, and the fact he is a course winner (over hurdles) makes him appeal even more. Returning pair Sizing Cusimano and Glance Back add further spice to the race.

ORCHESTRAL RAIN has been yet another shrewd purchase by Dr Richard Newland, improving in each of his three starts for the stable and impressively notching a Ludlow/C&D double. He has excellent female jockey Lilly Pinchin booked for his debut in handicap company and could take some stopping in his bid to complete the hat-trick. Friend Or Foe and Natalie Parker have a definite chance with the five-year-old equipped with first-time cheekpieces, while Sorbet and Flint Hill are other names to note.

WYE AYE looked to win a shade cosily over fences here at the beginning of the month and could follow up off just 2lb higher on his return to hurdling duty. First Man had been in fine form in this sphere prior to struggling slightly over fences at Hexham last time and it would come as no surprise to see him bounce back, while Art Of Diplomacy is an interesting player stepping up in trip for his handicap debut.

GOLDEN GIFT was still in with a big chance of winning prior to unseating his rider at the last hurdle over 2m5f at Wincanton last time. Paul Nicholls' gelding should relish this step up in trip and he could take plenty of stopping if putting in a clear round of jumping. Imperial Knight was well held on his seasonal return, but the trip was against him on that occasion and he is better judged on his second-placed finish in a competitive handicap over 3m at Haydock in January. The shortlist is completed by Red Nika and Filou Des Issards.

Those with previous race experience do not set a high standard but Countess Reach is arguably the pick of them having finished fourth over C&D earlier in the month. That said, preference is for MAXCEL, who is a half-brother to the Listed bumper winner My Khaleesi and he represents a yard who have a good strike-rate with their runners in this sphere. Fergal O'Brien is another trainer with a good record in bumpers and that means The Turtle Said also makes the shortlist.
