Big Break was heavily backed prior to her Galway debut and is surely capable of better than she showed there. Expect an improved performance from her, while Gathering Power will be expected to show up well again having only narrowly missed out on heavy ground here last time. Rehn's Nest shaped well on her racecourse bow over 7f here last month and should be winning before too long, but SHELINA just edges the vote having finished third behind Snow Queen on her C&D debut. A real eye-catcher on that occasion, she should be much sharper today. The beautifully bred Tereschenko is also considered.

Following his highly promising Leopardstown debut third, BATTLE OF MARENGO stepped up on that effort when running out a most impressive winner at Gowran Park last month, lengthening clear in the manner of a smart performer. This step up in trip should suit the son of Galileo ideally and he can see off Thunder Mountain, who won plenty of admirers when scoring in good style at the Galway Festival. The more experienced pairing of Canary Row and Dibayani are also considered.

Three-year-olds do really well in this race and DUNTLE could be up to the task. She justified favouritism in the Sandringham Handicap at Royal Ascot in June and bridged the gap to Pattern level when landing the Group 3 Desmond Stakes over this C&D last month. Today's race demands more of David Wachman's filly but it would be foolish to think we've seen the best of her yet. Emulous landed the spoils in good style 12 months ago and there was no disgrace in her Windsor Forest Stakes seventh when shouldering a weight penalty. She rates the main threat to the selection, but the returning Maybe could be worth another chance having won the Moyglare Stakes on this weekend last year.

SPEAKING OF WHICH looks a colt heading right to the very top and was particularly impressive when disposing of Soon in this grade here back in May. His absence since is a slight concern but he endured a busy start to the season and it would come as no surprise to see him prove a big player at the top table this autumn. Native Khan hasn't set the world alight since joining John Oxx but he has still been running to a good level of form, while Primevere, one of two fillies in the line-up, makes the trip across from England following her narrow defeat at Windsor recently.

Six-time Group 1 winner SNOW FAIRY found So You Think only half a length too good in this event last year and is fancied to go one better. Ed Dunlop's globetrotting mare suffered an injury after winning a top-class 1m3f contest in Japan last November but she returned to action with victory in the Prix Jean Romanet over today's trip at Deauville last month. She is tough as she is classy and will relish the drying ground, unlike Nathaniel, who looks better than ever this year but arguably prefers 1m4f with some ease underfoot. The main danger could be recent Juddmonte International third St Nicholas Abbey. He, too, is at his very best over further but stablemate Daddy Long Legs will ensure a true gallop and conditions are certainly in favour of last year's Breeders' Cup Turf hero.

A fiercely competitive handicap but a solid case can be made for the ultra-consistent BOLD THADY QUILL. The selection continues to go well and produced another fine effort when only finding one too strong in the Irish Cambridgeshire last month, a performance that gives him solid claims here. Battleroftheboyne merits a good deal of respect back up in trip, while Russian Soul is firmly on the upgrade now and will have no fears returning to turf.

John Oxx scored with Akeed Mofeed in the corresponding race 12 months ago, so keep a close eye on Little White Cloud, Qewy and Shadagann on their first career starts. Preference, however, is for MOUTEAB. Dermot Weld's charge has caught the eye twice in defeat this term and it was the manner in which he stuck to the task at Naas the last day that impressed the most. The son of Marju clearly gets this trip well and with two runs under his belt now, expect him to be ridden positively. Rapid Approach and Magician are other interesting newcomers.

Willie Mullins' bumper newcomer CALL ME BUBBLES can send his supporters home in front as he's expected to take full advantage of his weight-for-age allowance. The improving son of Stormy River thrived when stepped up in trip when breaking his Flat duck at Roscommon two starts ago and, on the back of another accomplished victory over 1m4f at the Galway Festival, he's taken to cope well in this sphere. Ian Williams sends Teak overseas and the distance winner hasn't been out of the frame in all five starts this term, while Notable Graduate rates best of the rest.
