SHAMAD has shown some promise on his last couple of outings and wasn't entirely disgraced on his handicap debut when fifth at Naas back in July. Dermot Weld's string are now in much better form so it wouldn't be a surprise to see a fair amount of improvement. Kupa River is respected on what he has achieved so far and has a first-time hood to help him settle, while Free Ranger can prove more than capable of taking a step forward after a solid enough debut when seventh to Irishcorrespondent at Leopardstown.

THE LAST INDIAN has been in excellent form since returning to the Flat having won two on the bounce at Tipperary and Navan in good style and the filly remains open to further improvement dropped back to a mile with Pat Smullen retaining the ride. Cosmic Symbol returned to winning form at Killarney on soft ground and looks a key player once again with the ground in his favour, while Intense Stylist and Hard Times look best of the remainder.

WEST COAST TIME showed decent form as a bumper horse on his first two outings before finishing down the field when last seen behind Fayonagh in the Champion Bumper at the Cheltenham Festival. The son of Westerner has shown his liking for softer ground so far and he can prove well up to winning a maiden on the level. Solo Saxophone improved on his latest outing at Tipperary when third and the first-time blinkers can help make a difference, while Brazos ran with credit on his debut in the same event when fourth and can take a step forward here.

BAYAN showed signs of a return to form when runner-up at Killarney to Snow Falcon in a handicap over this trip last month. The 2lb rise is more than fair with the form having worked out at the weekend due to the sixth Laws Of Spin winning a competitive handicap at Leopardstown. Nelson Road has improved his form recently and warrants respect running under a penalty, while Mr Everest bounced back to form in a handicap last time and appears to have more to offer up in distance.

COQUIN MANS arrives here having gone unbeaten in all four starts of his career to date with the son of Fragrant Mix plying his trade in three mile hurdles on his last couple of starts. The switch to the Flat over 1m6f on testing ground should be right up his street and he can maintain his 100 percent record. Ask Susan was fourth in a contest on the level at Killarney behind Max Dynamite and looks one for forecast purposes, while Universal Focus completes the shortlist.

EXACTORIS is the highest rated of these over hurdles (130) and has always given the impression that he would improve for a fence. If, indeed, he does manage to take a step forward, the returning six-year-old will prove difficult to beat. Ballela Boy's last couple of efforts over fences have been pleasing and he can take a hand in the finish, while Une Lavandiere, one of two mares in the line-up, merits consideration following her third-placed effort at Roscommon.

Swamp Fox is a very likeable individual and has been given six weeks to freshen up following two cracking efforts at the Galway Festival, including a neck defeat in the Galway Hurdle, but LAGOSTOVEGAS might prove difficult to beat in receipt of 19lb. The five-year-old has progressed to another level since joining master trainer Willie Mullins and had Top Othe Ra (second), Timiyan (fourth) and Plinth (fifth) all behind when scoring decisively at the Killarney Festival last time. Despite a 9lb rise, she can play a leading role once more. Davids Charm is another on the improve and won't give up on the hat-trick without fighting.

BEN BUTTON has done very little wrong since joining Willie Mullins, backing up a runner-up effort at Downpatrick with wins at both Galway and Sligo and, although a further 10lb rise will obviously make life a lot tougher, he is fancied to round off the hat-trick. Mr Champers has been in fine form over shorter and ought to figure prominently providing this trip doesn't stretch his stamina too far, while the returning Chain Gang also merits consideration.
