Gandolfini won this two years ago but looks out of sorts, while Dundalk winner Jolly Snake might benefit for the fitting of first-time blinkers but needs to raise his game. Eur Exclusive scored at the Curragh in August but has plenty of weight here while double scorer Kateeva looks in the grip of the handicapper now. It may be worth taking a chance on THE MUNSTER MAORI, still a maiden after 17 starts but in top form at present. He missed out by a head over 5f at Cork last week and can go one better off the same mark today.

THOMASGAINSBOROUGH was slightly disappointing when fifth on his debut this month over 1m1f at Tipperary and never mounted a serious challenge. This beautifully-bred colt, however, is surely capable of better and, with that experience under his belt, could be capable of seeing off these rivals. Dermot Weld's newcomer, Treasure The Ridge, also boasts a fine pedigree and could prove the danger but good runs are also expected from the progressive Casual Creeper, second over C&D this month, and other debutants, Dante Inferno and Light Heavy.

CANARY WHARF, a close second over 1m1f at Tipperary this month, looks the one to be on here. He looks exceptionally well treated on his handicap debut, could be suited by this slightly shorter trip and may benefit from the fitting of first-time blinkers. Afraz, third at Gowran Park last time out, is clearly on an upward curve and looks the main danger but chances might also be given to Antiquus, a close fifth at Down Royal latest, and the consistent La Olivia, while Danequest is up 4lb in the ratings for a head success at Gowran Park but can't be ruled out.

DON LONG showed vast improvement between finishing a disappointing 13th of 19, beaten 23 lengths, on his debut over this trip at the Curragh and a close third over 1m1f at Tipperary this month. He has very little to find on the latter effort to land the spoils here. Tower Rock disappointed on debut over this C&D but this well-bred colt should be capable of better and might be the one for the forecast today, although Diplomat finished just in front of him in that race and is another to consider. Asteroid Belt and Macbeth are not without chances.

FRED FENSTER was thoroughly impressive when running out a wide-margin winner over this trip at Cork over the weekend and underfoot conditions should be to his liking once more. He looks capable of brushing aside the burden of a 5lb penalty while better can still be expected of Shiramiyna, who disappointed at the Curragh recently but had looked good when scoring at Killarney back in July. The lightly raced Cnocan Diva, fourth over 1m1f at the Curragh latest, doesn't appear to have been unduly burdened on her handicap debut with similar sentiments applicable to Volcanic Jack.

TUPELO HONEY looks to be getting the hang of the game now and quickened up in good style when opening her account over this C&D two weeks ago, beating the reopposing Mojita (second) by one-and-a-half lengths in the process. A 7lb hike in the weights appears fair and this daughter of Sadler's Well is clearly at home on testing ground. Mojita ought to make her presence felt again, although she has little margin for error off this mark with similar sentiments applying to Mamma Rosa, an easy winner over 1m at Listowel in three starts ago but well held since. Top weight Ultra Cool has proved herself a model of consistency and should run well again.

SOLE PERFORMER left some disappointing efforts well behind when running out a game winner over 1m4f at Fairyhouse last month and he isn't handicapped out of things returning to the track racing off a 6lb higher mark. Nantucket Bay comes back in trip having lost little caste in defeat when a solid third over 2m at Leopardstown when last sighted in August and he takes the eye returning from a break, with New Phase another on the comeback trail as he prepares for another winter over the jumps. Harrison's Cave has solid recent form to his name and should like underfoot conditions with Dorset Square and Alayir also considered in a wide-open finale.
