PAPER FACES appeared not to get home over a mile last time at Chelmsford when fifth behind Curriculum so the drop back to 7f should bring about some improvement from Roger Varian's charge. Perfectly Spirited will also appreciate a step back down in distance having looked a non-stayer at Thirsk, while Polish Empress is well related and is likely to give a decent account on debut.

CONTROL CENTRE finally got his head in front last time here over 6f and can build on that success here stepping back up an extra furlong with the yard of Richard Hannon now in better form. Chevalier Du Lac ran below par last time at Thirsk but is capable of bouncing back to form here, while Biologist could improve on the form she has shown so far now tackling 7f for the first time.

Watch out for: Chevalier du Lac (1)

Most of these are in a seller for a reason, though CONTROL CENTRE could be a bit better than this grade judged by his latest success here and wasn't for stopping. Chevalier du Lac is the only other winner in the field and has to be feared on that basis, while Gerrard's Return could get closer to the selection this time.

AGUEROOO was entitled to improve for the outing last week at Haydock when having his first start since the 2000 Guineas meeting at Newmarket and the son of Monsieur Bond had a highly successful spell on the all-weather last winter. He was unlucky when last seen on his surface back in March and is 1lb lower now. Dougan appeared to be inconvenienced by the surface at Kempton favouring front runners last time and deserves to be forgiven that effort, while Clear Water and Ustinov are two others of interest.

It was another encouraging run from CLEAR WATER all told last time and she's the type to come out of it better again back from a break. She looks to have plenty going for her on her first go on AW now. Flowers On Venus starts out for a new yard and might not be on a bad mark, while Kasbah and Merdon Castle are just a couple of the others to consider in a good handicap.

He struck off 3lb lower at Windsor last summer and has title-chasing rider Jim Crowley booked this evening. GLADYS COOPER kept on well in the closing stages when fourth over 1m at Chelmsford City last month and is expected to build on that effort to take closer order now eased into 0-55 company and also stepped up in distance. Protest left behind some wayward performances when fourth over 1m at Ffos Las recently and should be thereabouts if running to a similar level of form this evening. The pick of the remainder may be course winner Frivolous Prince, who drops back from 1m4f.

ONEHELLUVATOUCH was transformed by blinkers when bolting up at Brighton on Thursday and a 6 lb penalty may not stop her if turning up in similar form.
