Cavallino was decent on the Flat in the past and made a fair hurdling debut at Wincanton recently. He should find a little contest before long. James Caird did not really shine on his hurdling debut but this useful Flat performer is worth another chance. RED BELLS won the last of his three bumper starts and looks the sort to make a decent hurdler/chaser. He has not run since last August but that is unlikely to be a problem on this first run for Philip Hobbs. Havenstone ran well enough last time at Newton Abbot and should not be far away.

Be Positive ran his best race for a while when second in a small event at Newton Abbot 12 days ago. Despite being 3lb higher here, he holds Albarino, Olival and Sturbury on that effort and he should give a good account. BEEHAWK looked a bit tricky on his penultimate start but did little wrong when winning at Bangor last time. This headstrong sort can improve again for the step down to the minimum trip. Artic Reason was playing second fiddle until gifted a race last time and will need to improve to take this.

Armariver showed a decent level of hurdle form before finishing second on his first venture over fences at Hereford a month ago. It was slightly disappointing he did not win but he came back with a front shoe missing so had a valid excuse. However he might have his work cut out beating IRISH WOLF. The selection offers top-class hurdle form and on his penultimate start was second off a mark of 150 at Ayr. If his jumping is sound he is should take plenty of beating. Thunder Rock has won two hurdles since the turn of the year and is another to consider on his chase debut.

Almizan was a gutsy winner last time but has yet to win away from Fontwell and runs off a 6lb higher here. Dune Raider improved throughout last year for Tom George and shaped adequately on his first start after a break for a new trainer at this course 20 days ago. Any drying of the ground will be to his benefit. Magical Legend is a model of consistency but just keeps bumping into a better handicapped horse; she should give his running nevertheless. RAYAYOGA is lightly raced over hurdles but showed there is another race in him with a highly creditable third at Uttoxeter recently. He is also twice a winner here before.

Lustre Lad showed his first signs of ability at Exeter last time and can figure in this if repeating the effort. Or Sing About ran well last time at Wincanton on his first try in a handicap. That was a promising effort and it confirmed the ability he showed in bumpers. OSSMANN was returning from a break when well supported in a similar race 17 days ago. He had previously been running over fences but could well have more to offer in this sphere. Clova Star was a well held third last time but will be better suited in this handicap company.

MOUSESKI has been in grand order this spring winning three hunter chases on the spin. He has won off a higher mark than this in the past and has the excellent Nick Scholfield taking off a valuable 7lb. Risk Accessor has a similar profile and these two hardy campaigners should acquit themselves well. Kety Star ran well last time over a shorter trip (holds Tighe Caster) and if the ground dries out his chance will be enhanced. Flake will be happier back over fences and runs off a 3lb lower mark. Quazar would be well handicapped if on a going day but those are few and far between nowadays.

Royale Rag ran a good race on the back of a monster absence on his hurdling debut and should go well here as long as this race does not come too quickly. Wantage Road has not lived up to his high reputation in limited opportunities thus far but shaped pretty well in a similar race last time at Uttoxeter and is one of the more likelier ones. PIGEON ISLAND has been knocking on the door for a while now and this represents a good opening.
