Pappas Ruby got off the mark at Southwell last time but it remains to be seen if she can reproduce that sort of effort off a 6lb higher mark on this faster surface. Fanghorn Forest continues to slip down the handicap and showed signs of a return to form when stepped up to 1m2f latest but it could pay to take a chance with FAIRDONNA, who went close in maiden races on three occasions over C&D at the end of last year.

SAMUEL CHARLES finished last on his latest start back on the turf, but found only the higher rated Blue Sky Thinking too good over this track and trip before that and is well clear of these rivals on official figures - with the exception of the Irish raider Lady Aspen. The latter is rated 72 in Ireland (placed twice in six starts) and, as such, is weighted to get the better of the selection so any strong support in the betting on her all-weather debut could prove significant.

Always Best ran better than her finishing position (eighth) suggests on her only start here over the extended mile last November and has since improved over longer distances. King Of The Beers won at Kempton in March and he cannot be left out of calculations back on polytrack, but LAUGHING GAME has improved with every start in maiden company and looks on a fair mark for her handicap debut after finishing runner-up at Kempton when last seen.

With a victory and two seconds from her last three starts, Drifting Gold looks sure to go well again but she is creeping further up the handicap and the tentative vote goes to C&D winner HOLLYWOOD GEORGE. He landed the odds in a seller with something to spare here last time out and returns to handicapping on his lowest mark to date. Sir Mark Prescott's Dramatic warrants respect on his handicap and polytrack debut after three runs on fibresand.

The well-bred GONE GOLD ran a good race for a long way prior to fading late on his debut over 1m2f, he should have learnt plenty from that experience and is worth another chance over this shorter trip. Sir Michael Stoute's filly Expedience is moving in the right direction and could have her say, while 110,000 dollar purchase Victory Mile looks the pick of the newcomers and should be monitored in the betting.

DANCING DUO notched her sole victory over this C&D and after returning to form with a narrow second here 12-days ago, Steven Drowne's mount looks ready to score again this evening. Oh so Saucy Shaped as though further would suit when third over 6f on her seasonal reappearance and looks a danger, as does recent Bath runner-up who has also won here. Little Iris is no forlorn hope on her seasonal and all-weather debut.
