Hamilton Horse Racing Results

The Scottish track stages racing throughout the summer months, with its most important races being the Listed Glasgow Stakes, a 1m 3f event for three-year-olds which is run in mid-July, and the Lanark Silver Bell, a handicap over a mile and a half run in late August.

Understood to be one of the oldest prizes in Sport, the Lanark Silver Bell was restored in 2008 having not been previously run since 1977 when Lanark racecourse closed. It is believed that the Silver Bell was first contested over a thousand years ago when the Bell was gifted to Lanark by King William the Lion. Trainer Mark Johnston boasts an excellent record in the race having won it three times in four years from 2011-14.
