Verdict
Ricky Punting was unable to break his duck when fourth on his introduction at Bath, but that was still a creditable effort and he could take a step forward. Even so, HARLEY looks the way to go. Ed Bethell's youngster changed hands for 22,000 pounds as a yearling and is a half-brother to Bomb Proof, who won on his sole juvenile start. Any market confidence behind fellow newcomer Waasil for the Karl Burke team would be interesting.
Expert View Verdict
Karl Burke’s juveniles always command respect and WAASIL, a 70,000 euros Ardad colt, makes plenty of appeal on pedigree, being related to several useful performers, so has every chance of knowing the job on debut. Ricky Punting shaped with promise on debut at Bath and, with that experience behind him, could take a sizeable step forward for last year’s winning yard. Hugo Palmer has also made a bright start with his 2yos this season and newcomer Wild Terrain, a £50,000 Terrirories colt, is another worth a second look in the market.
