Has an admirable record but failed to add to his score last season, with his best effort probably his reappearance in the Group 2 Prix d’Harcourt at ParisLongchamp (1m 2f) when finishing third, beaten two and a half lengths, behind Map Of Stars.

Trainer says

Certain Lad is back in full training, and he actually went for a racecourse gallop to Kempton last week. We’ve had a kissing spine procedure done on him over the winter, which has meant he’s moving as well as he’s ever done. Now whether the brilliance is still in his legs, only time will tell, but he’s in great form. He will probably start back in something like the Brigadier Gerard or the John Porter, but he obviously needs soft ground. He’s in great form, but if his form were to tail off then we would take a look and possibly call it a day, but if he can go and perform then we’ll see what we can do.

Winner of three of his 22 starts and currently rated 89. Best effort in four starts in Bahrain this winter came when finishing fourth, beaten a length and three quarters, behind Dan Tucker over 5f off a mark of 85.

Chief Mankato, thankfully, has literally just landed back from Bahrain. He should have won the last day there, but he was drawn on the wrong side of the track. We will probably aim him at the Windsor Final again that he won last year in the middle of summer. He is a cracking sprinter to have around the place, and he’ll turn up on a big day somewhere.

Crestofdistinction is in great form, and I think he’s going to be a top sprinter this year. He galloped at Kempton last week, and we are going to start him off in the Abernant at Newmarket.

I think he is a very nice horse. He was very much undercooked for his first run in the Doncaster Mile at the Lincoln meeting. He ran very well but looked poor in his coat - he still wasn’t 100% there. He’ll improve massively for that, and I think he’s up to winning Listed contests - and possibly even Group 3s. Whether he can go further than a mile, only time will tell, but there’ll be plenty of big pots in him during the year.

Ferrous has had another good campaign on the all-weather, and he was a bit unlucky when he hit the front too soon on All-Weather Finals Day at Newcastle in April. The headwind made him pay, and the horse’s challenging late obviously took the spoils. We will probably aim him for the Chipchase at Newcastle in the middle of summer.

Galyx had a setback last summer, but he’s back in great form this year and worked brilliantly at Kempton last week. I think he’s off a very workable mark at the minute, but he needs soft ground.

He could be one of our stars this year, and he will hopefully be running in races like the King’s Stand and the Nunthorpe. He will likely go to the Palace House on Guineas weekend first. He was another to work brilliantly at Kempton last week, and I’m very excited about him.

He has just taken a little time to come into his coat, but he’s been working nicely the last couple of weeks. He will let us know when he’s ready to start, but it may be that he won’t be ready until something like the Royal Hunt Cup.

We were planning on starting her back in the Snowdrop Stakes at Kempton but she had a little setback in the spring, so the Conqueror Stakes at Goodwood could be her starting point instead. Her main summer target would be the Duchess Of Cambridgeshire at Royal Ascot. She loves quick ground, so a later start to her year is not a problem.

We had him gelded through the winter and he’s come back in great form. We’ve got an entry for him in the Spring Cup at Newbury, so we may look to start him there. I think he can step forward in some of these big-mile handicaps this year.

I think she very unlucky not to win the Listed fillies’ race at Bath the other day, as with a clear run I have no doubt she would have won. She will either go to the Palace House or there’s a race in France for her. She needs really quick ground, so she will go for the one where the ground is quickest.

She obviously did very well for us last year and is in great form. We may start her in the Cock Of The North Stakes at Ripon, and she’ll be running in some nice handicaps through the year. I think there is a bit more to come from her, but she likes a bit of juice in the ground.

Rathgar ran well on his comeback in the Harry Rosebery at Kempton but probably just needed it. He’s a big, gross horse, and he’ll go to Newbury at the weekend. Hopefully we will have a few tilts at some nice heritage handicaps with him through the summer.

I’ve made no bones about the fact I think he’s a good horse, but it was a nightmare at Newcastle the other day. He was drawn wide and caught on the wing with a horrible headwind and crosswind, and that was it really. I will start his turf campaign at Haydock at the end of the month in a seven-furlong handicap. We will see where he is then, but hopefully he progresses into stakes company as well.

It was fantastic to go and win the Lincoln with Urban Lion, and he will probably run in the Spring Cup at the weekend. He’s come out of the race in great form and has been upped to 102, but he can still win handicaps off that mark. If he were to go and perform well again, then we could possibly look at some stakes races. Those straight miles suit him well, and we would have to be considering something like the Hunt Cup.

He’s a lovely colt by Study Of Man out of good filly in Opal Tiara, who we trained. He has taken a while to come to hand, but he will make his debut at Newbury at the weekend over a mile. He will probably get a mile and a quarter in time, and we are looking forward to getting his season started.

He made his debut the other day at Lingfield, but he probably didn’t quite handle the track as well as being a bit green. He will win his maiden shortly and could be a really nice sprinter to go to war with in the summer.
