A decent contest for the time of year but it will be disappointing if CAPELAND isn't able to maintain his unbeaten record. The son of Poliglote was last seen winning a Listed bumper at Cheltenham earlier in the year and, while that form has not worked out particularly well, he is the one they all have to beat today. That said, Call To Order's third-place finish behind subsequent Grade 2 winner Winter Escape at Doncaster in February is also rock-solid form. Casper King and Geordie Des Champs are the pick of the remainder.

COLIN'S SISTER was probably flattered by how close she got to a game winner at Sandown in March but that still rates as an excellent effort and she did shape as though there could be more to come when tackling hurdles. The five-year-old can land this at the expense of Lets Hope So, who looked like a typically progressive summer type for Emma Lavelle but could now be deemed good enough to take her place in some decent events over the winter. Ivor's Queen is likely to set a generous pace and could be dangerous if allowed an easy lead.

A race that has already thrown up very smart prospects in the past with Cue Card (2011) and Balder Succes (2013) both going on to Grade 1 success over fences after taking this on their chasing debuts. Flying Angel made an excellent start over the larger obstacles when winning as he pleased at Perth. However, he has to give over a stone in weight to CLAN DES OBEAUX who looked potentially very smart on his UK debut at Newbury before running respectably after that at Cheltenham twice. The son of Kapgarde should improve plenty for fences and can take advantage of the four-year-old allowance. Rock The Kasbah and Our Kaempfer both ran to a solid level over hurdles and are interesting contenders on their chasing debuts.

Nothing is ruled out with confidence in a contest where fitness will prove key. Gibralfaro is unfortunate to be saddled with topweight as he disappointed on his last two starts and it will be a good performance if he returns successfully conceding weight all round. Cobra De Mai could well have been laid out for this and anything the Twiston-Davies yard runs at present must be taken seriously which brings El Terremoto into the equation. However, the progressive DIEGO DU CHARMIL landed the Fred Winter at the Festival last term and the Nicholls juggernaut is already rolling along ominously well.

A race that signals the proper return of National Hunt racing with plenty of old favourites and some emerging types returning for another season. Ballyoptic was unbeaten in three outings over hurdles which culminated with Grade 1 success in the Sefton when outbattling Bellshill at Aintree over an extended 3m and remains open to further improvement. However, the drop in distance is the slight concern and preference goes to MR MIX. Although he looks the second string on jockey bookings, Paul Nicholls' charge was making headway when falling in the Martin Pipe at the Cheltenham Festival and, with Harry Cobden's 3lb allowance, looks a fairly handicapped individual. The champion trainer's other runner, Caid Du Berlais, will likely need the outing after a 542 day absence so preference for the minor honours are headed by Braavos, who should benefit from a drop in trip, Debdebdeb, who looks to have been laid out by her excellent handler, and the admirable Lil Rockerfeller.

A competitive encounter with several of these likely to line up in the Grand National next year. A tentative vote goes the way of HENRYVILLE, who should enjoy an exciting campaign for Harry Fry and Noel Fehily. He made an excellent start to the season at Market Rasen over the summer, running well for most of the way before being brought down in the closing stages. He would have surely claimed some minor money there and rates as the one to beat. Upswing didn't enjoy conditions in the Welsh National here in January, while Southfield Vic has only gone up 3lb for his latest success and rates as a big danger to the selection.

UPBEAT COBBLER made all over the extended 3m at Towcester last time out and is expected to remain competitive off 4lb higher. Thegreendalerocket was still in contention when falling three out at Stratford last time and could go well off an unchanged rating. The pick of the remainder may be Caspian Piper, who is 6lb higher than when striking over 2m7f at Worcester last month.
