Joseph O'Brien holds a strong hand here and his Galileo gelding Hawthorn merits a market check. However, preference is for his stablemate, three-time Flat winner BAND OF OUTLAWS, who is gelded ahead of his opening hurdles appearance. Maze Runner is another to taste success on the level and Willie Mullins' gelding arrives here with a solid chance following that Galway triumph, with Gowran second Union Gap also noted.

GETAWAY JOHN acquitted himself well in bumpers last season, with the pick of his form being a head defeat by Tornado Flyer at Fairyhouse and a pair of victories amongst useful company. The five-year-old was not disgraced on his hurdles bow here last month and could build on that third-placed effort with the benefit of a recent run. Presented Well was second in that contest and appears the pick of Henry De Bromhead's runners, while Impatient Partner beat some good opponents when a winner here in a bumper in the spring and now runs in the green and gold of JP McManus.

Willie Mullins holds a strong hand with Pleasure Dome and ROBIN DE CARLOW, with preference for the latter who arrives here in search of a hat-trick following a runway Listed success over track and trip. Elwood was a faller that day following a less than fluent round of jumping, but had shown plenty of ability before that and is not completely passed over at this level just yet, while fellow Gigginstown runner Laverteen is interesting back up in trip following a victory here in a two-mile maiden last time.

Willie Mullins has won nine of the last 10 renewals and GREAT FIELD is fancied to maintain his unbeaten run over fences for the Closutton handler. The exuberant front-runner is a sight to behold in these small fields on soft ground, and should prove too strong for Doctor Phoenix, who he beat at Navan when last seen in March. Anibale Fly was third in the Cheltenham Gold Cup and fourth in the Grand National but this drop to 2m isn't expected to suit, while Special Tiara isn't a sure thing to complete these days but would give the favourite something to think about if bringing his 'A' game to the table.

Camelia De Cotte got away with a few bad blunders when scoring in Listed company at Clonmel 24 days ago, while Forge Meadow only found the classy Mengli Khan too good at Punchestown last month and should appreciate the switch back to facing her own sex. Lackaneen Leader has been unlucky to bump into the likes of Laurina and Stormy Ireland in recent times, but this can go to DAWN SHADOW, who was deemed good enough to face the boys in a Grade 1 last time but made an early departure. This is easier and she previously impressed when winning a beginners' event at Galway in the autumn.

ANTIMATTER hinted his turn was fast approaching when runner-up over this trip at Limerick last time and is expected to be thereabouts off this 2lb higher mark. Spancil Hill drops back in trip after picking up some minor money over fences at Ballinrobe and can fight it out for the minor money with Wait Here, who bounced back to form when second over this trip at Tipperary off 2lb lower in October.

EIGHT AND BOB kept on at the same pace on the run-in when second over the extended 2m at Clonmel last time and could appreciate this stiffer test. Youcantcallherthat was touched off by a neck at Wexford on her last hurdles start and could give a good account off 5lb higher. Others for the shortlist are recent Thurles third Serious Ego and the returning Simple Steps, who has won off 1lb lower over fences in the past.
