A number of potential improvers on show but a sound case can be made for TROTTING WEASEL, who holds the strongest form claims following runner-up efforts on the turf at Cork and over 6f here last time, on each of his last two starts. His winning turn shouldn't be far away although Ability N Delivery has been running well across the water of late and ought to make his mark again with Rita Pride capable of better than she has shown so far dropped in trip on her handicap bow. Stones Peak is another worth noting.

SAMPERS and Calm Bay have been keeping decent company of late but the former comes into this in better form having followed a respectable effort in Listed company with a close up fourth in a competitive C&D handicap last time. A repeat performance ought to suffice. Rahya Cass would have a chance if returning to her best form but she is probably best watched on her first start since rejoining the Tommy Stack stable having endured a miserable summer for Jeremy Gask in England.

Elusive Express just about sets the standard following her improved placed effort around here last month but it will be surprising if she doesn't find a couple too strong again. The impeccably-bred Ballydoyle newcomer Amazing Beauty makes obvious appeal on paper but slight preference is for MAUNDAYS BAY (also engaged to run here yesterday), who made a debut full of promise when just losing out to the promising Declan's Warrior on her Cork debut back in August. It is interesting to see her return at this late stage in the season and connections are clearly keen to boost her paddock value with a valuable juvenile success.

The 82-rated VASTITAS has has a few chances now but looks to have been found a decent winning opportunity this afternoon. Jim Bolger's filly has finished second on three occasions now but there was no faulting her attitude when losing in out in a decent nursery here last time and she is taken to open her account at the expense of Ready When You Are who made a most promising start to her career when fourth at Leopardstown in September. Girl Guide, third here latest, and Devonelli are others expected to figure.

A few in with chances here but CRYSTAL BELLE produced a likeable performance when always appearing to be doing enough in scoring over a mile here last month and she is fancied to win again despite a 6lb rise in the weights. There should be a little race to be won with Emperor Of The Sun judged by his much improved runner-up C&D effort latest while Harrison's Cave and Final Recovery both come into this on the back of note worthy recent performances.

An Saighdiur seems sure to prove popular following his 6f success here at the end of October but he has an extra furlong to go today and looks vulnerable to the likes of Solent Ridge and DASH BACK. The latter shaped much more like her old self when a good third around here last time and the form of that race would give her excellent claims in what would appear a weaker affair this time around. Of the others, Iron Major could figure if coming back to form.

Another wide open affair but it is hard to see the well-bred MAUNSELLS DUKE not proving better than her current mark of 63 having displayed improved form when second on her C&D Nursery debut. There should be a bit more to come from Dermot Weld's charge and she can get the better of Annakeen who comes into this with a similar profile following her second here in October. Other potential improvers come in the shape of Miss Martinstown and Little Luxury.

Last time out winners Elusive Ridge, Solo Performer and Westtower Boy all make obvious appeal with the latter particularly interesting having clearly appreciated the step up in distance last time and looking a likely improver with only five starts to his name so far. However, DARK PROSPECT has proved himself a smart dual-purpose performer and earns the narrow vote having landed a similar event to this here back in the March.
