Ibelieveicanfly could only manage fourth when stepped up to Group 2 company at the Curragh and will appreciate this easier assignment. She should have more to come, but MAIRE RUA had a few things go against her when finishing third at this level at Cork last month. Ger Lyons' youngster suffered interference on more than one occasion that day so, with a clearer passage, she could prove hard to beat. Maeda Matsu got off the mark at Naas and isn't out of this either.
Ibelieveicanfly sets the standard on form after backing up her impressive victory in a conditions race in a Group contest. She boasts an experience edge and has Ryan Moore back on board but could be vulnerable to an improver. Timeless Tale probably didn't beat all that much on debut but she couldn't have been more impressive and looks well worth this step up in class. However her pedigree is all speed so there has to be some stamina concerns over this longer distance. Maire Rua defeated Bellesque over C&D on debut before proving herself up to this level next time where she benefitted from a pace collapse. If she gets a decent test she will be bang there but a chance is taken with APOLLO'S COMET whose C&D win has been boosted at Group level. She is best forgiven her run in the Prestige last time where she was badly hampered and she can gain some compensation at generous odds.

Sindagan finished sixth in Listed company at Cork and has to be of interest on his first appearance in a handicap. Vafortino made the frame at Galway and is a previous C&D winner to watch out for, but it's KRASIMIR who appeals most. Ger Lyons' charge made the frame in a valuable York affair on his most recent outing and this represents only his third start in handicap company. Benevento accounted for Rahmi at Gowran Park last month but the runner-up is 5lb better off, although he couldn't get competitive in the Irish Cambridgeshire subsequently.
Former Listed winner VAFORTINO was a touch unlucky when placing at Galway when left with too much to do after he was trapped in a pocket at a key stage. He has been generously dropped a further pound by the handicapper and has a good draw from which to get early position. He can confirm placings with Gleneagle Bay who was also left in an impossible position from a poor draw but finished strongly and remains on a workable mark. Krasimir was also a slightly unlucky loser at Galway where he travelled best but hit the front too soon and was outstayed over the extended mile. He backed that up at York next time where he conceded first run before flattening out for a place suggesting this slight drop in trip would help. He should be on the premises once again while the classy pair at the top of the weights Andab and Tokenomics are also feared returning to handicaps. The former is a Listed winner and his last run is worth marking up as he was caught too far back.

Darkness Falls progressed from his debut third behind Green Dreamer here to justify odds-on favouritism at the Curragh and he is the choice of Ryan Moore out of the four Aidan O'Brien contenders. Green Dreamer then ran better than his odds suggested he would when a close third in the Futurity and should go well again, but the unbeaten QUEST FOR STARS gets the nod. Charlie Appleby's juvenile produced a career-best effort when successful by a neck in a Listed event at Salisbury and should relish the extra furlong.
DARKNESS FALLS was behind Shakespeare and Green Dreamer on debut but after putting that experience to good use for an impressive 7l victory he is expected to reverse the form. Aidan O'Brien holds an extremely strong hand here and it is notable that he is the pick of Ryan Moore with the longer trip expected to suit judged on his breeding. The same can be said of his re-opposing rival from the Joseph O'Brien stable who found 7f too sharp last time but still wasn't beaten far despite missing the break and being poorly placed off a steady pace. He looks a huge danger having proven himself up to Group level as does Quest For Stars who outstayed his rivals over 1m in the Stonehenge last time. The runner up that day boosted the form in the May Hill this week so the UK raider also holds strong claims up in class and trip.

Dermot Weld and Aidan O'Brien have won seven of the last 10 runnings between them and they may fight out the finish once again. Piazza San Marco represents Ballydoyle after finishing a four-length third in the Listed Vinnie Roe Stakes on his first start since last October and is entitled to improve. PURVIEW combines speed and stamina, winning over 10 furlongs at the Curragh in June and over this trip there in May, and if all is well after his break, he should go on to better things. Arabian Crown was second to the excellent Rebel's Romance at Newmarket and also enters calculations.
PURVIEW has a pair of next time out Group winners behind him last time so should be able to defy the penalty here. He has shown rapid progression over middle distances this year showing an excellent turn of foot and he could prove himself up to the top level in time. Derby third James J Braddock has been freshened up since a disappointing run in the Irish version on ground quicker than ideal and could get back on track here. He can fill the places with the unexposed Piazza San Marco who ran a huge race on his return from a lay off in the Vinnie Roe last time. He flattened out late suggesting this slight drop in trip will suit and he's entitled to come on plenty for the outing for top connections. Multiple Group winner Arabian Crown proved he retained his ability when chasing home a top class stablemate at Newmarket last time and can also make his presence felt.

With two Classic winners representing Aidan O'Brien, Ryan Moore has presumably chosen to ride Irish 1,000 Guineas and Coronation Stakes heroine Precise ahead of Newmarket Guineas winner True Love after she was beaten less than a length when third to Rayif in the Prix Jacques le Marois at Deauville. She can go well, but she did play second fiddle to BLUE BOLT in the Prix Rothschild and Falmouth and Andrew Balding's filly can make it five out of five for the season, with a truly-run race expected to suit her even better.
BLUE BOLT is the obvious choice here having proved herself as the top filly in Europe over 1m with victories in the Falmouth and Prix Rothschild. The drying ground can help her confirm superiority over Precise who was behind her at Newmarket and Deauville. The Irish Guineas winner has shaped as if she could improve for further but she looks the main danger on form and she is the choice of Ryan Moore ahead of True Love. Her stablemate landed the Guineas at Newmarket and has held her form in defeat at the top level since over slightly shorter trips. If her stamina holds up she should also be on the premises alongside last year's winner Fallen Angel. Karl Burke's mare hasn't been at her best this year but has had excuses and can't be ruled out as a 5 time winner at the top level.

Isaac Newton kept on well to see off Needle Match in the Desmond Stakes over C&D, but the form took a knock when the runner-up was well beaten at Haydock last Saturday. UK raiders have a good record in this contest, winning five of the last 10, with globetrotter QUDDWAH seemingly the top hope. Second at Meydan to an in-form Ombudsman in March, if he is tuned to perfection he could yet prove too good for these back at a mile. The lightly-raced Hazdann and Charles Fort also make the shortlist.
QUDDWAH hasn't been seen since the spring but he was twice a winner at this level in Dubai over the winter and the form of his runner up effort to a top class rival last time took a boost at Royal Ascot. His UK yard enjoyed success at this festival a few years ago and has been in flying form of late so they should have him primed and ready to go. He can defeat Isaac Newton who appreciated the drop back in trip when landing the Desmond Stakes over C&D last time. That form has been franked and he remains unexposed at 1m so looks a huge threat. Former Lockinge winner Audience has returned to form of late and will be dangerous if allowed to dictate but he does face competition for the lead from in form strong stayer Faiyum.

Item, Almaqam and CONSTITUTION RIVER crossed the line in that order in the Juddmonte International and are very hard to see beyond. The hot favourite Ombudsman failed to give his running in that premium contest on the Knavesmire and events conspired to produce a messy race. Things certainly didn't go to plan for Constitution River, whose expected pacemaker couldn't live with the early gallop, while the son of Wootton Bassett was himself too keen and stumbled early. A more composed display can see the French Derby and Eclipse hero restore his reputation and get back to winning ways, at the likely main expense of his two York rivals.
The Judmonte International could hold the key to this. Item did well to win that day as he only got daylight late and he has proven rapidly progressive as a 3yo with his only defeat coming on unsuitable soft ground in the Derby. He can confirm that York form with runner up Almaqam who was only caught late and landed a Group 1 at the Curragh over 12f in the spring. However he could probably do with some rain and is vulnerable to a speedier rival here. CONSTITUTION RIVER was behind the pair last time ending his winning run but he was too keen that day where he raced close to a strong pace. The Reverend is interesting on his first start on the Flat for Willie Mullins, while the class-dropping Cannes is a must for the shortlist, with the son of Sea The Stars open to stacks of progression. However, a chance is taken on TRUTH BE TOLD, who won over 1m2f here before posting an encouraging display when touched off over this trip at Ballinrobe. Wyman wasn't that far behind Cannes last time and is marginally better off at the weights. Oisin Murphy is an interesting booking for Yousaynothingatall, while Evanesco can also figure in a highly-competitive affair.
WYMAN was foiled in his hat trick bid here last time in the Vinnie Roe but he was taken on up front and went too fast in the first time cheekpieces. It was admirable that he managed to hang around for so long and he should appreciate this slight drop in trip. His opening mark looks lenient judged on that and his previous victory so he should be able to reverse placings with Cannes. That rival is a course winner who also probably went too fast in the same Listed contest last time but still finished runner up. He went off favourite for a Royal Ascot handicap won by a top class stablemate so is clearly well regarded and he should prove better than this mark. Ulster Derby winner Madbadanddangerous backed up at Galway before running a solid race at Listed level last time. He looks well treated back in a handicap and will appreciate the slight drop in distance so can fill the places with Counting Coup. The lightly raced gelding showed a willing attitude when making it 2-3 last time and his opening mark looks potentially lenient.

SUZIE SONGS is improving at a rate of knots. She took another step forward when landing a Listed event over 7f at Cork and Ger Lyons' filly could prove ahead of her mark now handicapping. Rebel Wave is another on an upward curve and bids for a hat-trick on the back of a successful handicap debut at Gowran, while there looks to be more to come from last month's convincing Galway scorer Blue Blue Moon. Aviatrice, Tachos and last year's winner Pink Oxalis are others to consider.
The game THRIFTY OF DIGBY has generously been dropped a couple of pounds despite going down by only a head last time and could be tough to peg back if able to get across from a wide draw. Her conqueror that day Tachos escapes a penalty for that victory and the course specialist looks the obvious danger off an unchanged mark. Hat trick seeker Rebel Wave has only gone up 3lb for her latest win and is bred to relish this longer trip so is also respected while Listed winner Aviatrice is well treated on her best form. She can also make her presence felt if the rain stays away.
