Hurdling form just points to Mondego here, though it would be no surprise to see a newcomer in charge. The former German-trained winner had Corribbridge just behind when runner-up to Kells Castle at Punchestown and both have run well since. Orpen Guama is just held by the former pair on a line through Timber Scorpion but may improve, though a chance is taken on Joanna Morgan's SCENT, who has been in very good form on the level recently and is a real mud-lover.

In The High Grass battled to a bumper victory in February and will have needed the run over timber at Naas last month. Milltown Forge has looked a promising type in points and Michael Hourigan will have him primed while Zarghari caught the eye when staying on from the rear at Punchestown recently. However, the form pick has to be ONE COOL COOKIE, who led for a very long way before being caught by Letterman over slightly further at Punchestown last time.

Sheebadiva has shown some good form in points including when runner-up in the Gain Mares Final at Ballynoe in April. She looks sure to make her presence felt but Edward O'Grady doesn't import many from France so ODARSHAAN has to carry the greatest respect in a race that won't take much winning. Fran Crowley's King Rama didn't do so badly on his hurdling bow at Punchestown and should improve.

THE FONZE is in such great shape at present that even a 6lb penalty, which brings his weight to 12st 6lb, may not be enough to prevent a hat-trick. He easily holds Titchfield on recent running though the latter wasn't helped by a bad mistake. Falcon Queen is one to note as the former German-trained Flat winner has had three runs for her handicap mark but Mayoun will probably provide the main threat as he is quite well handicapped though a strike-rate of 0-24 over hurdles is hardly encouraging.

Bog Oak, a bumper winner here last December, has gradually improved over timber and should win her share this term. Her closing fifth at Punchestown in February was a good effort and if fit enough will pose a threat to AH COME ON TOM. Edward O'Grady's gelding ran well in a Galway bumper last month - a confidence booster after he fell when challenging for the lead at the last flight at Listowel the previous month. Mystical Breeze could improve enough to snatch a place.

This looks more competitive the first division but features the hurdling debut of STONEVILLE, who produced a very impressive performance to land his only points start by 25 lengths at Ballingarry in May. Kit Carson did well to finish third behind Up Above at Galway and should improve again and though For A Song has had his chances he has done enough to warrant respect. The Deadly, a bumper winner at Roscommon in October, is probably better than he's shown so far over timber.
