DELILAH PARK failed to live up to expectations when finishing last of the four runners over C&D in January but her earlier maiden success has received a couple of boosts in the interim and she looks worth another chance to confirm that promise. Assanilka lost out by the narrowest of margins over a mile at Lingfield last time and the speed she showed that day suggests this drop in trip will pose few problems. She may prove the biggest danger to the selection ahead of the hat-trick seeking Naralsaif.

CAPTAIN CAT has plenty in hand on official figures and he looks capable of running close to his mark judging on his penultimate second over a mile at Lingfield. This represents a significant drop in grade and it will be disappointing if he failed to make his class tell. Energia Flavio has winning form over this C&D and is preferred to the lightly-raced Miami Sunset for minor honours.

CANDESTA ran out an impressive five-length winner of a similar event at Southwell when last seen in December and he has winning form at both Kempton and Chelmsford which offers hope he will prove effective on this different surface. He remains well handicapped on the pick of his efforts despite a 7lb rise and could represent decent value. American Patrol looks likely to prove popular after he highlighted his resolution to record a determined success over C&D last month, while Beepeecee is fairly handicapped at present and he hinted his turn was near when third in a stronger event at Chelmsford in January.

Outlaw Torn would rate a threat to all if allowed to dictate matters from the outset and taking his chance after his victory at Chelmsford on Saturday, while Life Of Luxury continues to edge down the weights and wasn't disgraced when fourth over C&D last month. However, SUNSHINEANDBUBBLES was unfortunate to come across the well-handicapped Compatriot when runner-up over 1m4f here last month and she faces nothing like the level of that opposition here.

CELESTIAL SPHERES has won two of his three starts on the all-weather and he always appeared to have matters in hand when landing the spoils over this trip at Lingfield in January. He remains open to significant improvement and can land this en route to bigger targets. Soldier In Action is a likeable type who invariably runs his race in this type of event. Mark Johnston's five-year-old regained the winning thread with a determined success over two miles at Kempton but may find the drop in trip against him, while Mount Tahan has progressed nicely this winter at this venue and completes the shortlist.

Kion is very interesting on his first start for Jamie Osborne having gone very close to landing a 6f Curragh maiden second time out when last seen in August. Slight preference, however, is for BLACK SAILS, another Irish recruit who has the benefit of a recent run after filling the runner-up spot on debut for Archie Watson at Kempton last month and should strip fitter today. Swiss Belle rates best of the remainder.

INDIAN AFFAIR had a couple of these behind when scoring over this track and trip last month and a 2lb rise may not prevent a bold follow-up bid, while the in-form Bernie's Boy has had a decent winter and again went close when runner-up over this trip at Chelmsford on Saturday. Others expected to go well are Rockley Point, who is just 2lb higher than when a close second at Newcastle latest, and Lucky Lodge.
