Gary Moore’s letter to Santa Claus reaped more reward than he could ever have imagined, with his Christmas wish list including a sumptuous victory for Nassalam in the Welsh National, an easy success for Salver in the Finale Hurdle, also at Chepstow, and a most welcome back-to-form performance from Editeur Du Gite in the Grade 2 Desert Orchid Chase at Kempton.
In the past fortnight, the Lower Beeding trainer has notched up eight winners from 27 runners - with a strike rate of 30% - and his prize-money tally has rocketed to £645,341 as a result, while his 2023-24 tally now sits at 29 winners.
After Nassalam’s romp in the Welsh National the next stop is likely to be the Gold Cup at Cheltenham, with Editeur Du Gite hoping to make the line-up for the Champion Chase and Salver one of a strong team for the JCB Triumph Hurdle.
With his horses in resplendent form, Gary kindly talked to Tony Elves of attheraces.com about his team at Cisswood Stables.
