GARY MOORE showed that his team are very much in the right form ahead of this week’s Cheltenham Festival when Eragon De Chennay romped away with the Juvenile Handicap Hurdle at Sandown on Saturday and that horse could well be a contender for the Fred Winter later in the week.

Moore hopes that several of his team have sporting chances in a busy week for his Cisswood Racing Team in Lower Beeding and prime hopes appear to rest with Benatar in the JLT Novices’ Chase on Thursday for which he is currently around odds of 8-1. Benatar has won his three chases this term and took the notable scalp of Finian’s Oscar when last seen in a Grade 2 at Ascot in December and high hopes are also entertained for  bold showing from Ar Mad in the Champion Chase and from Sussex Ranger in the Triumph Hurdle.

Win, lose or draw, Moore has others that he hopes can prosper in the coming months and kindly spoke to Tony Elves of ATR on the eve of the four most important days of the Jumps season.
