Lester Kris made a promising debut over hurdles here 11 days ago and he could give the selection plenty to think about. Vendredi Trois has some good form to his name in recent months and he could make the frame today, while No Hiding Place and What Happens Now are others to consider.

Not an easy race to assess, but RED GIANT is clearly in good heart at present and may be up to completing the hat-trick. Rocknrollrambo hasn't had much racing recently but is interesting now back up in trip following another lay-off. Atlanta Ablaze may yet do better as a chaser and completes the shortlist.

KING ALFONSO returned to winning ways over hurdles at Market Rasen a fortnight ago and could be worth following back over fences. This is another winnable contest for Dai Burchell's charge and he can account for Omega Springs, who doesn't have the greatest overall strike-rate but has looked much better for this yard the last twice, and Boy In A Bentley, who has had his excuses on his last two outings and a 103-day break may have helped.

Watch out for: Omega Springs (2)

OMEGA SPRINGS has a poor strike rate, but he has started out for Dai Williams with a couple of good placed efforts over fences and could resume winning ways now. King Alfonso struck over hurdles last time and is respected back over fences. Vif Argent could be building up to something and is undoubtedly on a winnable mark.

ROCKALZARO drops in class and should go well here with first-time blinkers and tongue-tie applied for Donald McCain and Brian Hughes. The six-year-old has also had a wind operation since he was last seen and could be too strong at the finish for Baron Von Chill, who makes more appeal than Irish raider Atlas, and Marju's Quest, who provides Adrian Wintle with a strong hand in the contest but is proving difficult to win with.
