STERNRUBIN shaped with plenty of promise in three Flat appearances for Peter Chapple-Hyam and he looks the type who could make up into a smart hurdler. Bought by leading NH owner Terry Warner and sent into the powerful Philip Hobbs stable, the signs are certainly positive for him at this early stage of his new career. Moving Waves arrives on the back of a game win on the level at Southwell and merits consideration on her first start over timber, while last week's Bangor third Guard Of Honour could fare best of those with previous jumping experience.

Smart bumper performer UPSANDDOWNS could barely have done the job any easier on his hurdling debut at Newton Abbot last month and he appears to have been found a great opportunity to follow up. The one to chase him home could be Yes Daddy, who comfortably won a Southwell handicap before struggling in stronger company at Cheltenham, with Brave Helios taken to beat Georgie Lad into third.

Although respected, Imperial Circus will do well to defend his crown lining up off a 9lb higher mark, and Dreamsoftheatre appeals more having struck the crossbar on his last three starts. The vote, however, goes to MAKETHE MOSTOFNOW. Evan Williams' nine-year-old ran right up to his best when beating Pantxoa over 3m1f at Market Rasen (fourth has won since) and a 5lb rise may not be enough to anchor him if he can reproduce that level of performance.

GAYE MEMORIES appeared to benefit from the step up to this trip when scoring comfortably on her latest outing at Uttoxeter in May and, open to plenty of further improvement, she is fancied to defy a 6lb rise. She certainly won't get things all her own way, however, with Queen Spud, Cash For Steel, Maypole Lass and Dark Spirit also holding solid claims. The last mentioned, who claimed this prize 12 months ago, appeals most of that quartet on her hat-trick mission.

A chance is taken on BALLINCURRIG to bounce back from his disappointing effort in a Listed event at Market Rasen. Three victories in the spring included a game success over the useful Christopher Wren at Sandown in April and he is certain to go close if able to recapture anything like that level of form. Azza needs to prove that her jumping is up to the test but she certainly has enough ability to run well, while The Bear Trap should be able to improve on his distant third at Bangor.

SUNBLAZER came good on the Flat at Wolverhampton recently and, returning to the scene of his best hurdling performance to date, he shades the verdict in a muddling affair. It would come as no surprise to see L Stig post a much improved effort on his handicap debut for local trainer Henry Daly, while Strongly Suggested is now 4lb lower than his last winning mark so is dangerous to dismiss.

VINTAGE VINNIE was snapped up for 75,000 pounds just days after winning a Lingstown point-to-point in March and he seems certain to mount a bold bid on his NH debut for a trainer who sends out plenty of bumper winners. Outrath wasn't beaten far into fifth on his debut in the valuable Goffs Land Rover Bumper at Punchestown in April and he has since left Irish shores to join Jim Best. He can run well, while Milestone also merits consideration representing the stable that won this race in 2010, 2011 and 2013.
