Bath - Friday 5th June 2026
NO MORE BOLERO was a comfortable winner over 2m1f here in April and has the versatility to cope with cutting back in trip. With the ground ideal, he can add a second course win to his portfolio. Lusaka has over three lengths to find with the selection on that form but might get closer over this distance. Kotari is well handicapped and shouldn't be underestimated on these terms.
BILL THE BULL was a creditable fourth in the National Stakes at Sandown and is hard to oppose with this representing a significant drop in class. Graceful George and Madentine are the pick of the rest that have experience to draw upon. However, the bar isn't set too high for South West to have an impact on debut for a yard boasting a decent record with juveniles.
FOREVER GLAMOROUS and Tickettothestars boast the most convincing recent profiles, with the former shading preference based on his potential to improve on just his third start for his current yard. The latter has held her form well with two respectable efforts since she won over 6f at Nottingham in April. There are good reasons to expect another bold showing. Miss Magic Dragon and Rogue Rebellion are others to consider.
Strike, who runs off 4lb below his last winning mark, still retains ability and returns here with a solid chance in this company. However, he hasn't won for almost two years and preference is for LEQUINTO, who only went up 3lb for his latest success at Windsor and this looks well within his range. The ground-versatile Jax Edge is a course winner with each-way claims.
Dion Baker made all of the running to land a handicap at Brighton latest but he'll need a bit more under the penalty, especially from a wide berth, and it is WEDGEWOOD who gets the nod. Tony Carroll's mare has held her form well since winning at Lingfield in March and she is weighted to go well on these terms. Magnificent Mel is only a three-year-old and she might have a bit more to offer.
Rose Dawes got a good tune out of KEN BRULEE at Lingfield and the unexposed three-year-old looks worth sticking with now eased into classified stakes company. Sisters In The Sky had looked all at sea before coming home to great effect to hit the frame over C&D recently. He merits respect, while Scott Dixon's Coast is most appealing of the remainder.
Having finished third on her last two outings here, Atalanta Mist must enter the reckoning. A 1lb ease in the ratings can only help Marcus Tregoning's filly and she shouldn't be far away, but MALI STAR is more compelling. The Sands Of Mali gelding shares a similar profile, but the introduction of cheekpieces could be enough for a breakthrough victory. The returning Us Officer has had a gelding operation and is worth a second look.
Although thwarted in his bid to complete a hat-trick at Lingfield 17 days ago, MAN IS KING could have more to offer over 1m2f. The seven-year-old had previously scored over C&D and he's fancied to regain the winning thread. Revich continues to slide down the ratings on turf and he shouldn't be underestimated, although a bigger threat may emerge from recent Windsor third Galactic Glow.
This is a competitive stayers' event that may go to LUSAKA who is in good form, versatile in terms of conditions and off a fair mark. Taritino is tricky to assess having been in decent nick over hurdles and run consistently in the main on the Flat last year and could threaten. No More Bolero ran poorly last time given the amount of market support he had but if back to the form he showed in his previous two starts would also be a danger.
It is a brave "man" who opposes BILL THE BULL here. He showed loads of speed when fourth in the Listed National Stakes and this sharp track and much lesser opposition should ensure he loses his maiden tag. Graceful George gets cheekpieces after racing too freely and finding little last time and may improve again. Next best could be Katie's Cavalier who showed a good attitude on his debut. One that might go well at a price is Holi Scarlett who is yet to show much but was spotted being given a quiet ride last time.
Luna Beaux ran pretty well on turf over course and distance last time and had slightly better form than that on the all-weather this winter. She ought to go close again. FOREVER GLAMOROUS though might be a slightly better option having been narrowly beaten in his two starts on the grass this season. Tickettothestars is a danger having won at Nottingham a couple of starts back and run well since. This extended 5f will be right up her street.
STRIKE appeals in this competitive sprint. He was well backed over course and distance last time and came back to form. He could go one better here. Lequinto was also strong in the market when winning at Windsor last time and remains on a workable weight. At a bit of a price Jax Edge looks quite well handicapped and didn't run at badly despite racing freely last time.
Dion Baker enjoyed it out in front at Brighton last time and won with a bit in hand. He can go well again but preference is for WEDGEWOOD who is in excellent form and was only beaten a length here last time after being made a lot of use of. Setting slightly more conservative fractions she can run a bit better than that and looks nicely handicapped on her all-weather form. Magnificent Mel ran below form over course and distance last time but had been a good second at Nottingham on her previous start and stays 6f. She could bounce back and contend.,
Plenty of these are in terrible form or haven't actually shown any worthwhile form. The one that clearly is running well is KEN BRULEE who won a handicap when fitted with cheekpieces last time. He is the one to beat. The main danger is probably Sisters In The Sky who finished eye-catchingly here last time after getting a long way behind, partly through dodging an injured runner. Coast could be best of the very poor rest.
MALI STAR looks the obvious one in this poor handicap. He was well backed and only beaten 1/2l last time and gets cheekpieces here to eke out a little more though the most compelling thing about him is the flawed opposition. Atalanta Mist is probably best of those having steadily progressed after losing form following a good debut and run a solid race last time. Shirakawa might also go well at a big price. She'd run ok in a couple of decent races at Kempton before being too free on her handicap debut.
GALACTIC GLOW looks a good option here. He's in form and remains competitively weighted. The consistent Bobby Dassler could be second best and recent winner of a couple here Man Is King can bounce back from a below par effort at an inadequate trip at Lingfield and threaten.
