HIKMA carries a 6lb penalty for her Beverley success last week and although she has subsequently been beaten at Wolverhampton, that was off her higher all-weather mark and she can bounce back here. Panettone is in danger of becoming disappointing but she might be worth another chance with blinkers applied for the first time. Critical Point, Joy To The World and Wednesday's Kempton scorer Thecornishcowboy are also worthy of consideration.

SEMEEN made a winning handicap debut at Newmarket last month and there could be a good deal more to come from him so he is fancied to defy a 4lb rise. Kelpie Blitz has been raised 6lb for his C&D success last month but he is entitled to be in the shake-up once more. Wednesday's Bath winner Highlife Dancer can make his presence felt again, along with Frosty Secret and No Larking.

TIGERTOO posted an improved effort when runner-up at Wolverhampton last month and if he can build on that effort, he can play a leading role this afternoon. Saint Irene scored at Salisbury last week and a 6lb penalty might not prevent another bold bit, while Leicester seller winner Tooley Woods is also considered. Inffiraaj and Whinging Willie are others with claims in an open contest.

Disclaimer probably sets the standard on form and he looks sure to get off the mark soon but slight preference on this occasion is for ALTHAROOS. He shaped with plenty of promise on his debut at Newbury and he is entitled to improve a good deal with that experience under his belt. Muharrib has struggled on both of his runs to date but he could prove capable of better.

Eager To Bow narrowly got the better of Aciano over this C&D last time but Brendan Powell's representative is 1lb better off today so he might be able to turn the tables. Nonetheless, ANNES ROCKET gets the vote. He won well at Sandown on his penultimate outing and the form of his Folkestone third has been franked as both the winner and the second have won since.

STRATEGIC ACTION showed a good attitude to score over 6f at Folkestone last month and a reproduction of that effort would give him major claims here despite a 3lb rise. Desert Red took a step in the right direction when third at Catterick and she can take a hand here if building on that. Lana would have a squeak if returning to her best and Green Mountain is no forlorn hope.

Interakt had to settle for second best behind Peter Island over 5f here last month but the step up to 6f will suit and she can be expected to play a leading role. Byton disappointed at Newbury last time but she might be worth another chance here and Rum Punch is also interesting, but SARANGOO gets the verdict. She is handicapped right up to her best but her close Goodwood second last time gives her a big chance today.

ONE WAY OR ANOTHER returned to form with a decent third, behind Eager To Bow, over 7f here last time and the step up to a mile should not pose a problem, so he might be able to take advantage of his attractive handicap mark. Green Earth has been struggling of late but he is nicely treated on his best form and should not be left out of calculations, while Baby Driver and Phluke also make the shortlist.
