Verdict
ALASKAN BEAR ran with plenty of promise on his debut at Naas earlier in the month and looks a likely candidate for top honours. On that occasion he was the gamest of runners-up to Ballydoyle's long odds-on favourite Confucius, finishing nicely clear of the third horse, and any improvement would make him hard to beat. Bit Of A Buzz was another to make a pleasing start when third at Naas late last month and he too is likely to go well again. Mr Montauk might need to improve on what he has shown so far to figure and perhaps first-timers Away And Gone and Shafters Legacy will prove more of a threat.
Expert View Verdict
BELLE OF THE BALL appeared to know her job well on debut, if anything being a little too keen over 6f at the Curragh. She faded into fifth and ought to benefit from a drop to this 5f trip in the short term. Alaskan Bear, runner-up at Naas on debut, should improve from that initial experience but dropping to 5f isn't sure to suit as well. Away And Gone, on debut for a good yard, is another to consider despite the lack of experience.
